I don’t know how Pandya managed to get into the leadership group despite hardly playing any matches for India, he has given up on test cricket, no contribution in world cup and now was looking to hog the captaincy of our t20 team, I mean how does he deserve it? He is a fraud who puts Mumbai Indians over Indian cricket.

It seems to be be because he is seen as the only fast bowling all rounder worth investing in - still - and because at that time with everyone else beyond 35 the only choice for both T20 and odi captaincy. Only thing which prevented latter is his injury.

You can play as much mental gymnastics as you want but truth is that he missed almost half of home tests and 1/5th of away tests but not a single IPL match in 4 years. 

 Do you know Kohli has slip disc problem, that is why he missed that test .It has been recurring problem since 2014 and he has managed it since then. He gives lot of credit S&C coach Basu Shankar in helping him to manage and undertand the issue.He has been managing that issue just like Clarke managed his degeneration in my disc.

 

Clarke missed one test in 2013 series against India when Shane Watson  became captain of Australia.Clarke could have played but for his condition.

 

Those back issues don't go away, you are just managing them.There are days when you just cannot even sit.

Agree on principle. If he is serious about his words, start implementing them from next series. If Kohli plays the IPL now, make an example out of him. Does Ro have the guts? Or will a lightweight like Kishan be the expected soft target? 

Dont recall when was last time when we gave so many youngsters opportunity in a single Test Series. TBF, He has overacheved and probably had no option but was forced to do so after our Kohli who totally relied on Bhumrah+ to win test matches.

 

Kishan is Not the target. Its messaging which is IPL is good but please consider test cricket.

Bumrah can't be relied upon to be consistently available ( workload mgt etc ) so there is no way he can be a captain. He will possibly play 3 games out of 5 this series and it will likely be the same in Australia later this year.

Yep and out of 3 he can easily win you 2.

Aus have informed that for next series they will rotate bowlers but their second string reserve bowlers apart drom big 3 are all rubbish. 

 

Take cummins out of the attack and its pretty useless.
