Leg spin options for the world T20

Recommended Posts

Obviously leg spin will once again play a big role in T20. Even average bowlers like Shadab Khan , Livingstone get away because when batsmen try to over hit against the turn they miscue more often than not. Sadly we did not play a leg spinner in 2022

Apart from Mishra/Chawla/Chahar we have not played many leggies in world T20. Suyash is someone we have to watch again. it is only second season we get a clearer picture. Sometimes beginners luck make any bowler good.  Bishnoi unfortunately did not add anything to his existing skill. Still firing the ball on to the pads of batsmen. Kuldeep will be an obvious pick for sure. Wish the second spinner we play will also be a leggie instead of Jaddu.

we need an all round spinner like Yuvi,we have some options but they are not ready.

Still those 4 bankable overs from leggies can completely turn the game upside down.  Samuel Badree was brilliant as an opening bowler.

Jaiswal should be tried out at some level.

he's a 7th bowler, not a 6th bowler. tilak might become a 6th bowler level in the future, he's more of a 6.5th bowler right now.

kuldeep is not a T20 batter. I don't think we can carry four no. 11s as always. second spinner has to be an AR to an extent.

If they play both Pandya and Dube then only two specialist pacers are needed. Sundar must be second spinner, he can even bowl in powerplays and save pandya's overs for middle and death.

I don't see them playing both of them.

Not sure about legspin but we could have tried Riyan Parag for that second spinner role instead of Sundar or Axar

Parag seems best suited for ODIs. not powerful enough for T20s, and not solid enough for tests.

By the way Paragh bowls leg spin to right handers. He can bowl both off spin and leg spin.

I am aware, he bowls both. I also read somewhere he has experimented with seam-up.

Tewatia how is his form? We don't need a perfect leg spinner

I wish india had tried him in t20is

Impact rule means he won't be bowling much if at all in IPL... had a good ranji with the bat

As left hand lower order bat and leg spinner it's a unique skill set
