Some bad purchases. Tim David is nowhere near Pollard, Brevis and others are also poor.

And Chawla is lead spinner

Tristan Stubbs shoved it right up Bambis by showing up for DD.

MI is a shitty team all along. It didn't change at all. They only won all these trophies with the umps in their back pocket. 13 vs 11 is never a fair game.

Also someone had to carry gaaaandu the karate kid. So its 14 v 10. Add ARS (Ambhanis Review System), so its 15 v 10. yet they sitting pretty right by another great team RCB.

Mumbai's rise coincided with Pollard and Malinga's peak.

It's not a coincidence that they've been irrelevant since Pollard retired.Pollard was a generational talent in t20s, a proper cheat code. They've replaced him with Tim David

Unlike Dhoni, who has has successfully rebuilt CSK multiple times post mega-auctions, MI have not been able to do so post Pollard.

They may become the first team in IPL history to finish 10th twice. They have to win everything to avoid that

Got it.  You mean 10th. Not wooden spoon

Meh, they still were top 3 in 2022. They never were as bad usually.

After topping the league in 2019 and 2020, they have finished at 5th, 10th, 4th, 10th in the last 4 years.

So, it's not just this year. There is no shame in accepting that they are missing clutch players like Pollard and Malinga.. Tim David and Thushara haven't brought the same impact

In this case both. Wooden spoon and 10th place.  That is quiet an achievement given that 10 teams is a lot of teamss. lol

That man Pollard. What an MVP he was for MI. Ofcourse Malinga too.

They were not 4th in 2022, they won the eliminator so were 3rd overall. And that too with most of their players including bumrah injured. They would have done way better this year.

I meant finished 4th after league stage in 2023.

In 2022, they finished 10th

It seems like we were always an over-rated team....

who got lucky through combination of umpires and few standout performances....

2 lucky 1 run wins in finals with some dodgy decisions aiding them.....

Never won an IPL when it was 10 team competition whihc is always tougher than 8 team.....

Finsihed wooden spoon once and looks to be twice....

on top of that they have no loyalty....

so much for calling themsleves one family....

happily ditched their 5 time winning captain....

and used underhand tactics by paying Pandu 100 crore to make the move....

they thought they can buy their way to another title by acquiring Pandu...

but sometimes you get what you deserve....

also fielded 5 overseas players in a game once when max allowed is 4.....

Remember that! The excuse that time was that they had too many injuries and weren't able to find enough Indian players  If they had to play fair and square, I doubt they would have more than 2-3 titles. Umpiring bias shows up clearly every season, and the under-handed dealings to get marquee players(e.g., Pandya this year) is also an open secret.

DK explained how much money they spend in getting their players prepared. Top class practices facilities were offered to them to iimprove their game. Probably the best in the IPl set up. THen army of coaches to go with.  We got fooled into thinking Rohit is some sort of wziard as a captain. Real aukat was seend at the international level.

TBF Rohit is/was still a better captain than Kohli. The mistake our selectors made was giving Kohli the captaincy after Dhoni. Rohit should've gotten it as he was a better captain between the two but as always our selectors went with "best player for captain". It was apparent after the CT 2017 debacle that Kohli wasn't suited to captaincy but our selectors didn't care. In fact Rahane out-captained Kohli in the few games he had to lead :phehe:

Back on track baby. Lucky for the rest of the team, :mi: is peaking a tad late this year. If they peaked early, they would have been beaten black and blue.

But they're still getting beaten black and blue bar an odd game here and there :dontknow:
