When/How/Why did MI become such a sh!tty team?

After 3 titles in 4 years at the end of IPL 2020, now they have league stage, wooden spoon, barely made to playoffs and now worst team in current season!

Giving away record totals while bowling, batting harakiri...

What the heck happened?

Surya is a big miss, can't underestimate what a player like him being unavailable costs.

Also Krunal is a bigger loss than Hardik thanks to his ability to gets some overs of SLA in. MI haven't had a proper lead spinner for a while but Krunal and a semi decent leggie like Chahar were able to manage, now they have neither.

Overall a highly imbalanced unit. Curious to know how many titles they won after Pollard and Malinga left

Missing SKY, Pollard and Malinga big time..

Remember two of their titles in 2017 and 2019 were because of Malinga and Pollard's brilliance. Both 1 run victories

Some bad purchases. Tim David is nowhere near Pollard, Brevis and others are also poor.

And Chawla is lead spinner

The issue is Tim David is a very good buy but not for today's slow surface .

They have to make flat pitches and maximise their batting firepower.

He has failed everywhere. Only seems to hit fulltosses with any consistency.

Wonder if they would bring Nabi in place of Brevis next game.

He isn't great either but they don't have better options.. Plus Nabi can bowl off spin against DC who have 4 lefties in their top 7 (Warner, Pant, Axar, Porel)

All the idiots made Rohit Sharma into the greatest captain of all time when he won those trophies thanks to Pollard, Malinga and to a lesser extent De Kock, Bumrah and SKY.

But now that all those players are no longer playing or not in their prime, Rohit Sharma's captaincy is exposed. Even Pandya thrived in GT because of all new players.

MI is fully exposed now along with Rohit Sharma.

It's fascinating how people elevated Rohit to captaincy when he has never won a single ICC tournament nor contributed in the finals or knockouts in a big way in even a single tournament.

After that T20 world cup fiasco where he and KL were playing like scared kittens, whole T20 team should have been overhauled. Yet this fool is made a captain again for further humiliation.

I just realized after Pollard left they haven't won anything. Some of the MI win's were pure individual brilliance. Rohit almost went missing in all those crucial games except a couple

Yeah, actually Pollard won it for them in 2013 as well.. He didn't do much in the 2017 final. RPS choked

Or you know, every captain has a shelf life, even the greatest captains in history sucked in later years, dhoni completely lost the plot in his later years in international.

Rohit was a good captain, he is just past it now. He was given captaincy in international cricket way too late in his career when he was past his peak.

Team is fine. The playing 11 is bad.

Once SKY comes back, Bring in Romario Shepherd for tim david, Nabi for a spinner/all rounder in place of chawla. Brevis is too raw for IPL.  He is not an impact sub player. David has been playing for 3 years with little results. Compare him to Pollard from 2010 to 2013 the gap is huge.

Ishan

Rohit

Naman Dhir

SKY

TILAK

PANDYA (Bowl/Bat)

Shepherd (Bowl/Bat)

Nabi (Bowl/Bat)

coetzee (Bowl)

Bumrah (Bowl)

Madhwal. (Bowl)

This is more than enough.
