Gautam Gambhir new coach??

Will be very interesting if he becomes the coach.

 

1- I will be happy since he supports fast bowlers and is agressive.Hopefully, Mhambrey and co are replaced too..

2- Interesting to see the chemistry b/w him and Kohli

Never underestimate the power of superstars. Remember what happened to Greg Chappell. Although he was an idiot in antagonizing cricketers.

The biggest idiot that the Indian coaching world has seen. He had anger issues and was a total jerk. Just because he had some ideas about fitness (well, doh ... it's an obvious idea) does not make him a good coach. The proof that he is the idiot-in-chief comes from his lack of success as a coach anywhere he went, not only with the super-star laden Indian team

I consider Greg Chappel the best coach India ever had.

I am not sure GG will even take this job.his style and BCCIs star worshipping style are totally opposite.

Maybe BCCI want to get away from their star worshiping style and want Gambhir to implement a new meritocratic style. Kind of like help them "kick the habit".

Unfortunately, star worshipping brings more revenue due to fan following, so BCCI would want to keep that

Dude destroyed the whole culture of the team. Culture eats strategy for breakfast. You need to take people along. You can’t be angry and force things on people. He never had a coaching role after that tells you something.

They can’t get away. IPL made cricketers even bigger stars than they were in the past. If I were in India I would get fatigue with all the adverts blasting in my face

There is no superstar,present and last superstar is Kohli

IPL has distributed the starpower among many rather,which equates too less as compared to star power possessed by one or two past superstars

Getting treated and being a genuine one are two different things

Paxtan too tries to create a superstar out of Babar but he nowhere commands respect be it paxtan or outside

Statpadding has its value. Star value. Look how Pakistan is using the same technique with Babar a guy whou would not walk into any of the top side as a T20 batsman.

He wanted to make Indian team based on current form and not past glory. He went about it in a wrong manner, his my way or highway was a major issue. Look at 07 team. It actually was a decent team but everything went wrong. Ganguly and his spat with Greg is well documented. Today we are critical of Greg and how he was unfair but let's not forget Ganguly retired within a year of Greg leaving.

 

Greg and even Kumble were removed/left because players tantrums against coach were prioritised. Why do you think Rohit is T20 captain, Kohli might have got runs but he shouldn't be in wc team.
