It's a chronic issue. Not just oldies. This F Agarkar ain't that old. 
It's extremely difficult to change a person's mindset. 
The problem is that this chief selector simply wants to earn his paycheck with minimal disruption. He just doesn't have the balls to make a bold (actually in this case a no-brainer decision) decision.

Those 2 and Venky Iyer as well. Agarkar has been a useless selector so far.Selection of Ruturaj makes no sense and trundlers like Avesh

We really don't deserve to win anything when we see likes of Ruturaj and Gill as T20 openers, and continuously back pacers like Avesh Khan. And it's not as if we don't have better options. Instead of Ruturaj go with Venky Iyer. Instead of Avesh go with Harshit or even Mohsin Khan. Give Varun C a chance after he was the most effective Indian spinner. Sometimes I wonder do we fans watch the same games these selectors and team management does?

Agarkar and Co. have disappointed big time in their last 2 selections and proved that they just want to be puppets like the earlier selection committees.

Bumrah Shami themselves are irreplaceable

I can understand with the batsmen,oldies are getting old and aren't performing like they used to except here and there and then there is Jadeja

 

But what backing these two trundlers have ,they lack everything including personality to be face of Indian pace bowling and cricket
