and all this just for Indian team. They might not have intended it but knowing venue in advance is advantageous.

Even the first final happened this morning (India time) and reserve day would have given the team 1 day for final only.

With semis scheduled on different days, one team will have more rest than other. Happens in every tourney.

Yes, but with reserve day added in, the disparity between two teams for rest is too large. hence no reserve day

Disparity is one day only assuming both games are rained off/not rained off.

 

Its the same in all tourneys which have reserve days for both semis.

How does Olympics pander to American audience ? Olympics happen in all time zones and prime events like 100M race typically start during night time for locals.

People might disagree but what annoys me is these early start times for locals...like there is no reason to start a T20 game at 10AM on a weekday other than making sure that start time suits Indian viewers. You rarely see World Cup semis of other major sports happening on different days having totally different start times

There is every reason to start a T20 at 10am. MONEY. the end all, be all of all reasons. In modern era, sports teams make 90% of their non merchandise revenue from tv contracts. only 10% come from gate receipts. So cater to prime-time tv time for 1.5 billion or cater to 40,000 ticket purchasers ? its a no-brainer.

Everyone knew WC final will be in Ahmedabad. What advantage did it have? Nothing, nada, zilch.
