Because WI board might have wanted to hosted one semifinal in Trinidad in night and this one in Guyana during day time. They could not have played yesterday semifinal any earlier so obvious choice for day game was here.

Final can just be two days away Even the first final happened this morning (India time) and reserve day would have given the team 1 day for final only.

Its the same in all tourneys which have reserve days for both semis.

Whether it is timings or events (imagine aquatic events having 40 different gold medals for grabs just to prop up US above China and Russia), or even judging. Eyes on TV matter at the end of the day, ICC sees Indian population as a cash cow, of course they will milk us dry whether it be via scheduling for peak Indian TRP window (8-11 pm) or somehow inserting Ind vs Pak in every event. How does Olympics pander to American audience ? Olympics happen in all time zones and prime events like 100M race typically start during night time for locals.
upriser7 Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 People might disagree but what annoys me is these early start times for locals...like there is no reason to start a T20 game at 10AM on a weekday other than making sure that start time suits Indian viewers. You rarely see World Cup semis of other major sports happening on different days having totally different start times Lord 1

MONEY. the end all, be all of all reasons. In modern era, sports teams make 90% of their non merchandise revenue from tv contracts. only 10% come from gate receipts. So cater to prime-time tv time for 1.5 billion or cater to 40,000 ticket purchasers ? its a no-brainer.
