Emotion was pouring out after that win. It is one thing representing yourself. It is another thing representing your country.  Leander Paes gave everything when he played Davis cup for India.  There is a sense of pride that is associated with Olympic Gold.

Truly magical moment!

Yesterday was such a bittersweet day. From the high of the hockey to the loss in everything else. Lakshya losing after being on top for so much fo that first game and the beginning of the second to Anish and the other shooter being in the top 6 only to mess up their last rounds so badly to eliminate themselves was so frustrating to see. Still the hockey match almost made up for it all.

Any thoughts on Sen's chances against Zia? I really hope he comes back from whatever he was going through to crumble like that against Viktor to at least win the bronze. Today has nothing else to offer. No real contenders other than perhaps Sable - he should at least make the finals.

Women's 68 Kg wrestling is today, upto semis.

Nisha Dahia is participating but medal chances look slim.

I have written off wrestling as no-hopers. Had though we would win at least one in boxing and that was not to be.

Germany is the best attacking team this competition. Defensively we are the best.

Germans have scored most goals this tournament, we have conceded least.

Clash of styles even though we'll be missing a key defender.

I think we have to be more attacking, we are sure to concede a bit more with the absence of Rohidas. Hope Fulton comes up with something. We won't be able to win by parking the bus

Take them with a pinch of salt but in the two FIH Pro League matches against Germany this year (both played in London)

We beat them 3-0 in the first

We lost 2-3 in the second

Last year

We beat them 3-2 and 6-3, both games in Rourkela.

We should stop following Cricket and popularize Hockey, our National game. We have really improved after the high of 70s and reached the World stage again!! Invest in youth, bc!

Nope. They can't get past Australia. Can't even remember when they last beat them. And then you have the  usual suspects in Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium. It would be a good result even if we get a bronze.

Dhosti. Lol that's how they end up losing. * friendship in key games. No friendship in sport until the match is over.

Manhoosiat, panauti won't retire. Better be kicked out.

She would need to get picked in trials first. That said, it's not like the options to replace her seem much better.

Paris Olympics: Sreejesh is a legend, says Indian skipper Harmanpreet

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Singh hailed PR Sreejesh as a legend after the veteran goalkeeper produced a fantastic performance to help the team beat Great Britain 4-2 on penalties to reach the semifinals at the Paris Olympics on Sunday.

India, who were reduced to 10 men, defeated Britain in a thrilling quarterfinal in the shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
