Couple of fifties (both in match losing cause) against a terrible 9th ranked Windies side in 2023 t20 series doesn't make T Varma a great player.

Thing is he is trying to play selfishly at this level where he should have been more fearless.

He is quite selfish. Just look at that video where he boasts to Riyan Parag about his off spin bowling in that he got Nicholas Pooran out, in a slightly confrontational manner.

 

No doubt he good, just don’t let him near a T20 in Indian colours.

He's good,but the urge to stay not out in lois will kill his chances

It used to be good to carry your bat till 2010s but not anymore

Hitting has gone to another level and there is no limit to it

This outdated route is mostly taken by low iq guys not smart ones in this era

Prime example chewt kela ,such beautiful range he had but just to remain solid consistent in lois he destroyed his usp and became a nothing player like na idhar ka na udhar ka

He is mostly done ,after Aus series he will be dumped for good

Noone should be even trying to statpad ,don't do it in t20s atleast,so many guys are practicing power game these days that they will throw you out of your place the moment they get a chance to perform

In last 2/3 years t20 batting has gone to next level even the Odis are being played at different level, there is no need of accumulator role . Verma played a mediocre t20 innings.

Openers had done their jobs maximizing the PP  but in the middle over  Ind strolled with  low SR and batters were nt able to keep to tempo or  increase it any time.

 

In both innings Ind only won the PPs and rest was Pak game after that , and  during both innings Verma was the responsible party, most exp. bowler just bowls 1 over and Verma bowls 1 extra over when Pak team was looking looking to up the tempo a proper bowler would have been better option.

Rasikh look better bowler than others. Overall bowling looking quite light. Don’t think they have sent the best talent
