i am not into short selling. I treat shares as asset. In long run, you get return as long as you know, fundamentals of company are strong. All those companies which managed to come out of COVID or 2008 crisis, They will come out of this crisis as well as this one is calculated/man made

I am not either. I spend like 3 hrs a week on stock market and I usually park my money in safe stocks 50% , optimal risk for 30% and risk for 20%. 

 

By risk I just mean promising startups, not some Wolf of wall street stuff. 

 

I simply asked my financial planner after Trump said the tariffs word first time at his inauguration and asked him to send me a list of ALL Canadian companies I have stocks in that are goods manufacturers. 

Because all Canadian goods manufacturers export like 70% of their inventory to usa alone. 

 

Then when Trump said " canada..tareef khaoge ?' I sold off all those stocks the very day. Coz I knew all stocks of Canadian mfg will collapse due to tariffs. 

 

I was just taking evasive action. Then when he said 'lol jk, fine pause on tarrifs' I realized market would rebound instantly, aka shortseller opportunity and I brought back again.

 

Netted a cool 10K the first time. The. The second time he made more noise and backtracking again and then made 50k.

Then as soon as he pulled out " we are gonna tariff china at 30%', I knew canada is gonna be on chopping block coz canada is middleman routing nation for china to evade us import taxes and take advantage of nafta. 

So I sold it all a third time and now I got a cool excess 50k I didn't have 3 months ago.

If you are novice, I am novice level 3. I just short sold coz when your major importer says " * you...lol kidding" it's a shortseller opportunity if you hold mfg stocks. 

 

I think there are much more educated people here in stockmarket stuff than me but sure, pm me if you wish.

Ps : @New guy if you think stockmarket being doen a few % points is bad, i have far worse news for you. 

 

We have insider info that there's a 50-50 chance Trump will invoke the 1805 insurrection act and declare martial law and put federales in American cities and root out libbus root and stem.

 

Full McCarthy era style totalitarianism akin to how Indian libbu parties operate and there will be flood of framing and dumping libbus in jail.
