India needs threatening spells like this...

Head was threatened with short deliveries,he looked erratic

Even if we bowl it now the bowlers don't put all behind it to make it threatening to Head

He has been the difference out of nowhere

You can never bank on Siraj with Harshit being just 2 test old in the run,we are barely left with Bumrah and let's not talk about spin at all

Shami would have been help

Energy  has to come from the captain. Standing like a giant buffalo in the slips without motivating his bowling unit doesn't help one bit. This has become very meek under Rohit. Just words, stares are not enough. Your ball has to do the most talking.

He's a 38 year old overweight Indian male who has just had a month off. How many such specimens do you encounter in real life who are full of energy and vigour  ? He is doing what is natural for a man in his stage of life. The only time he is likely to get a shot of energy is when he is handed the menu for dinner.

This is what missing.  Currently SIraj is a floater.  Rana bowls heavy ball. But doesn't threaten bodily..

Umesh "the monster" Yadav.

Bowler who shown the entire world that Indians too can bowl fast for an extended period of time.

Superb post !

Agree strongly.

We need to market this video.

More than speed gun readings, it is hostility which demarcates a fast bowler from a seam / swing bowler.

A group of good Fast bowlers wrest psychological advantage by making the batsmen fearful of facing their team.

Missing the Kohli - Arun - Shastri era.  Bumrah - Shami - Ishant - Umesh were beasts in the 2017 to 2021 period.

The irony is that in this match on a bouncy pitch, India had the faster bowlers as a group. The way Cummins and Co were bombarding the Indian batters with bumpers is something they could have easily tried as a strategy particularly against Head who has a known weakness against that when he starts. Last year even the West Indian quicks exploited that.  What the Indians lacked was the strategic nous and the planning to switch on beast mode from time to time.

Our pacers were lions under Bumrah. Became pussies under Rohit.

I have said this a hundred times but I will say it again, Ishant Sharma of 2016-2020 was a gem, in that duration he operated like an ATG bowler. Bowled long spells, gave away nothing and swung it miles, I remember a graphic in 2018 which showed he was swinging it more than Anderson.

He was more important than Shami in that time frame, hopefully we find someone similar.

Give this side Ishant Sharma of 2016-2020 and watch it dominate the Aussies.

2018-19 BGT was strongest Indian team.

That Ishant with this Bumrah would be killer.

Indian pacers were fast bowlers in Perth. Aggressive and hit the Aussies on the body and head multiple times.

The same pacers were seamers in Adelaide. Lacked hostility and aggression.

That made a big difference.

Rohit Sharma is the difference. Such a lethargic captain. Suck energy from team

Ishant is playing tests from 2007 as a 19 year old

Arun was also a factor everyone's lethality coincided with Aruns's presence

Its also a problem, batting is brittle but bowling is over reliant on Bumrah.

no it isn't. Give them 300+ scores and they'll do well. You cant fight with 170-180 scores

I watched the whole match, I can say with certainty that our bowling performance was below par.

First of all, to be hundred percent clear the loss is on our batsmen.

The way Head was smashing us we never were able to apply any sort of pressure, it was just Bumrah doing his stuff or Aussie batsman playing a rash shot.

We need a bowler who bowls tighter lines and doesn’t get hit too often, Akashdeep looks like the right choice as of now.

We should go with 4 pacers and Sundar for the next match.

We didn't apply pressure because we were defending just 180. Its a ripple effect. They were trying too hard and were not calm.

If you want tight bowling use 5th bowler for that. Main bowlers have to attack.

They could have used Ashwin more
