There are no slips in ODIs, so he'll eke out some runs.

He couldn't even eke out runs when needed in ICC knockouts when he was supposed to be at the top of his game so what're the chances of him doing now? We all saw how he eked out runs in SL. We're keeping someone like Jaiswal out thanks to him.

And how exactly will he eke out runs against better teams? He can't play spinners getting clean bowled or LBW. He can't play pacers outside off. He can't play cut shots. He can't pull/hook due to poor reflexes in his old age. He doesn't use his feet. All he can do is stand 2 feet outside the crease like a moron which doesn't help either coz he doesn't have the reflexes to adjust anymore. We don't want 20(35) type innings. We already have a liability in Rohit who can't last beyond PP.

In 15 Tests in Aus and SA, Ro has a batting average of 22, no hundreds and only 3 x 50s. That's as shockingly bad as it can get. Begs the question: why no 'horses for courses" for batsmen? Why are they always picked irrespective of conditions.

Forget "horses for courses". We're playing with lame horses who can't perform on any course. At home they failed against a mediocre NZ side and can't play turning deliveries. In SENA countries they can't handle bounce and seam. So where exactly should we play them?

Better to kick the two leeches out and go for domestic performers. Jurel, Sarfaraz, Easwaran, Padikkal and Sundar are in the squad. We also have Sai Sudarshan waiting in the wings with likes of Rinku who hasn't been given any chances despite a stellar domestic record.

We've options and our youngsters have shown that they can perform at intl level. We're simply waiting for BCCI and selectors to grow some balls to drop the has been seniors who can't perform anywhere and are dragging the team down. Pity they wasted Bumrah's career who should've gotten much more support than he did.

I hope we win the damn CT and give Rohit his desired ending. Don't want him to linger on after CT.

With Kohli, we have no choice. He will stay on till 2027 WC.

Sorry but WDYM we have no choice ?  If Kohli fails in Dubai , why should he be selected going forward?

On his last tour of New Zealand, he averaged 25 with the bat.

He didn't your SA last time but on his previous tour , he only averaged around 37 with a pathetic strike rate of 76.

Had a horrible tour of SL this year.

Averaged 16 on his last tour of England.

There's zero evidence he can perform anywhere outside India even in his "best" format.

Also he'll be 3 years older by then

And do what? Both of them can't score runs anymore and it's not as if Kohli made a difference in WCs earlier. He couldn't do anything when he was supposedly at his peak from 2015 to 2023. Expecting him to make a difference in 2027 is hilarious.

Kohli is bigger than the game and BCCI is either incompetent or helpless. :((

It's more like they don't care. For them cricket is business and as long as they raking in the moolah nothing else matters. Why else do you think Jay Shah is there if there's no money?

that is pretty much the BCCI's attitude. it will change only if/when large droves of Indians start abandoning cricket and flocking to other sports
