If the requirement is to get a specialist captain, get in Rahane instead of Rohit and Kohli

Rahane can check the boxes for both "experience" and "captain". Offload Rohit and Kohli, and Rahane can replace them and probably would be less of a burden than these two useless pricks. At least the team would actually look like a team.

 

Ideally, Bumrah should be leading the team with Pant as vice captain, and Rohit & Kohli nowhere near the team. Bumrah plays out of his skin to win us the 1st Test and then see the usual suspects shyte all over again.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has said that India need captain Rohit Sharma to lead from the front if they are to recover from the defeat in the second Test against Australia in Adelaide. Shastri observed that Rohit appeared deflated as captain, particularly after failing with the bat in both innings of the pink-ball match.

India were thoroughly outplayed, suffering a 10-wicket defeat in Adelaide after failing to cross the 200-run mark in either innings.

The Indian team faltered with both bat and ball, allowing Australia to seize momentum in their first innings and post a formidable total of 357. Travis Head launched a blistering assault on Day 2 after Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney successfully navigated the challenging twilight period on Day 1.

Rohit Sharma's captaincy decisions came under scrutiny, particularly in his use of bowling resources. R Ashwin was underutilised on Day 1, and Jasprit Bumrah was not brought on at key moments to take advantage of critical situations.

Ravi Shastri suggested that India should take a lesson from Australia's approach and reflect on their weaknesses to prepare for the third Test, which begins in Brisbane on 14th December.

 

"I like the choice of words by Pat Cummins in Perth. He said we weren't good enough, but we weren't as bad as the scoreboard showed. The reason I say good choice of words is because it wasn't about what people said or what was written about, it was about what the scoreboard showed. I think India can take a leaf out of that.

"It would mean Rahul would go back to the middle order. But that's what he was going to do if Rohit Sharma had started from the first Test itself," Shastri said.

Yet another series the "experienced" duo of Rohit and Kohli are gonna cost us along with all the series and ICC tourneys they failed in for more than a decade.

 

Never seen any so called "stars" achieve so little for their team and yet lauded by their fanbase. If they were born in any other country, they would've been one of the also rans whom nobody remembers. Yet here we've fans like @putrevus hyping up "King" kohli or "Hitman" Rohit without the so called King not do anything for more than a decade.

2 wrongs don’t make a right. Rohit should have been put on notice after being white washed at home by Nzl. This is his last series as captain if he loses or wins. As a batsmen he has fitness issues so pretty much done.

 

If situation is so bad he will drop himself like Eoin Morgan but most sportsmen have a bit of alpha in them and will keep playing so it boils down to team management. I don’t like “what ifs” so let him play the series and  then Tata bye bye either ways.

Don't delude yourself. Neither Rohit or Kohli are gonna drop themselves. They're like a leech and will continue to bleed Indian cricket dry. They treat Indian cricket team as their personal fiefdom and are entitled pieces of shyte who lack any self awareness.

 

Forget about dropping themselves from this series or Test cricket, they'll be the first names for CT squad and we all know what they're gonna do. There're more chances of Jaiswal not making it to our ODI squad than these two done and dusted pieces of shyte dropping out. In fact wait and listen to the excuses which'll come out. We already heard our first about "Batting hasn't done well for 5-6 matches" when in fact batting has been non-existent the last few years. Bumrah at Perth had 2 debutants. 1 test old paddikal, out of form Kohli. Last minute inclusion of Rahul. He was against all odds. India gave them shellacking.  Here he gets Gill.  Won the toss. Yet managed to lose massively.

Bumrah is the man for the Job, we don't need another washed up passenger back in the team, Rahane will come and keep his buddies in the team, Indian cricket is as it is a donkey carrying the burden of so called king and hitman. We don't need another meek surrenderer like Rahane, we have KL Rahul to do that job for us.

Rahane and Pujara were dropped even though Rohit and Kohli were as worse. Specially Rahane was the target after he became a captaincy option,was soon removed afterwards.

Two almost Goat series wins & he would've won vs NZ as well if they'd have listened to my advise of declaring early, too many intellectuals were claiming back then we shouldn't declare with enough runs on board
