dropping kohli gives u a great team combo . Or sharma in place of kohli. Doesn’t matter . 
 

But dropping reddy will be criminal . He needs to be no 3 batsman.

He too is...

Someone has to face the wrath...options are Gill, NKR or maybe Jaiswal.

 

Best solution would have been that one of the senior batters (specially the captain) get self realization that they're becoming an impediment for the future of Indian Cricket.

He is young, still has time to improve on his game.

Gill has far too many failures overseas. He averages like 18 or something since that Gabba outside Asia. Played 4 WTC final innings. Failed in each one of them. But the guy who took India to final with maximum wickets sat down. No wonder bowlers are mistreated in comparison.

Nitish has bowled well enough for a 4th seamer. Just not used enough for whatever reasons. Can't expect him to bowl only at set batsmen. 

 

Bowling has held up fine with this combo this series. Its batting that needs work.

 

Once top 6-7 can reliably give 200 runs between them, we can think of bowling.

 

In any case, we must not drop performers just because of combination issues.

 

I already made that point. Nitish is not good enough to be 4th bowler in a 4 man attack .

 

He is going at an economy of 4.55 . 

 

How is that good enough for a 4th bowler?

 

Unless Jadeja steps up with the ball, one of them have to be cut from the final XI , because we will be down to just 3 bowlers.

Mitchell Marsh is also doing similarly as 4th pacer. Lyon has been a non factor too.So they are also 3 bowler no?Doing fine. Infact Nitish has looked better than Marsh. The high ER is due to being sporadically bowled only when there is a partnership. It'll correct itself the more he bowls. 

 

Also even if your combo has to be tried, why cut those in form? Cut someone like Gill and have Reddy and Jaddu bat one spot higher. Much more likely to work. 

 

We need the all the batting we can get. Even 5 pacer attack won't save us if there are no runs on the board. Already playing 2 batsmen less effectively with Rohit and Kohli.

Lyon hasn't been hit out of the attack. He has given a lot of control which Jadeja's darts didn't. 

 

Then what needs to change is Rohit and Kohli.  So that they get exposed for their lack of runs - Rohit in particular.

Lyon hasn't been hit because all 3 pacers have been doing the job. Whereas for us its only Bumrah. Both Siraj and Akash were inconsistent. 

 

Rohit as captain won't go. Only chance is Gill with everyone batting one spot up like they did in Bangalore v NZ.

"Poster boy" Shubman Gill, a marketing Liability in Disguise

 

Shubman Gill. The BCCI's carefully constructed "Prince" is a caricature, a symbol of misplaced ambition and manufactured hype.  A player who consistently fails other than against minnows and  comfortable conditions 

 

Gill's batting and temparment is frustrating. His continued presence in the team is a testament to the BCCI's obsession with creating marketable stars, rather than selecting players based on merit and performance.

 

His record in SENA countries is abysmal, with an average hovering around 17 in the last four years. His failures, however, are conveniently hidden under the shadows of "seniors" Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, allowing him to escape genuine scrutiny.

 

The time for excuses is over. Gill is a liability to the team, occupying a crucial batting slot that could be better utilized by a player with genuine temperament, consistency, and a hunger to succeed.

 

The BCCI, blinded by their own manufactured image, continues to cling to the "Prince." It's time for a dose of reality. Gill must be dropped from all formats- Lack of temparment and never a fighter. The Indian team deserves better.

I understand that everyone is focused on Gill, but he didn't do too badly in the pink-ball Test compared to his peers. He deserves more chances, especially since he showed significant improvement in the recent home series. Maybe he should be coming at #4.

True. Fans were happy that we are 1-1 before going to Melbourne. But I think even MCG is going to be quick wicket and our top 6 batting is just 50% functional. I know Australia has sucked too but ours is next level pedestrian.

Very tough to win with that.
