I recall we were saved by umpire for the last wicket where Ojha was plumb. We coped some really bad decisions in that test but somehow the most decisive one fell in our favour. Laxman-Ishant partnership then that Ojha run out scare where Laxman got really angry and almost threw his bat him in anger was just epic. Yeah but apart from that test, it was boring.

That Aussie team (especially God mode Smith) deserved a series win in India 10x more than this lodu NZ team. So many country greats and ATGs at the peak of their powers in that series Edited December 28, 2024 by Gollum Number, rollingstoned, MechEng and 1 other 4

Gollum Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 GOAT: 2020-21, 2001 ATG: 2003-04 (away), 2017 Memorable: 1998, 2004 (even though we lost), Monkeygate one, 2018-19 Only bad ones were 1999-00, 2011-12. Even 2013 home series, 2014-15 were captivating. Greatest rivalry, because of clash of styles akin to Federer vs Nadal. OnlY Aus-RSA rivalry comes close (still distant second) in the modern era. Besides, doosra was a bigger issue than regular offie. Gollum and Suhaan 2

Ashwin, Jadeja, Umesh, KL etc. missed that year's IPL, even Kohli but he sustained it on field. Very packed schedule in 2016-17, 12 home tests season, imagine. Underrated part of that series is Saha's keeping, I have never seen keeping of higher quality against both pace and spin. Pity BCCI doesn't have a montage of his keeping. rollingstoned, Vijy, sensible-indian and 1 other 2 2

Then of course their is Sydney till then TV umpiring and everything was so evolved still such blatant errors from umpires. Vijy, Laaloo, Lord and 1 other 4
