Meanwhile, Jaiswal hasn't even debuted for India in ODIs, while his peers like Brook, Rachin have imposed themselves in this format. IMO the easiest format for batsmen in current era, especially top order.

Scale of corruption in Indian cricket is unimaginable.

Jaiswal for his own good should practice his leg spin a lot. He bowled in under-19 world cup. THen he stopped for no reason. When there is a toss up between him and another batsman this additional skill will tip the scale in his favor. Also having a wristy , even part time one is always handy.

There should never be any toss up. He is head and shoulders above the other Indian youngsters, a Viv/Sachin/ABDV type prospect across formats.

I am sure he will average 60-70 at 120+ SR if given a run in the easiest format for top order batters.

RIght now GIll with an average of 58  and also be the new KOhli he will keep his spot. Then it will be between him and ROhit. We know how Rohit is going to under-utilize a player moment there is a threat to his place. THis is why i believe he should develop himself into an all rounder in shorter formats.

Humiliation written all over this squad.

Another "safe" squad selected on the basis of looking back at the past rather than the future. The problem is that even the past was 2 years ago and that mindset led to a team going a decade without winning anything.

Agarkar has to be the most idiotic selector Indian cricket has seen in  decades. Seriously, where is Karun Nair? And how on earth did the BCCI's nepo kid, Shubman Gill, end up as vice-captain? He doesn't even deserve a spot on the team! This is beyond absurd and utterly ridiculous. It's blatantly obvious that this selection committee is just a puppet for BCCI  lobbyists. Pathetic. After New Zealand and Australia series this selections are just baffling and spitting on the face of an average Indian cricket fan. Time to stop watching Indian cricket team.

Looks like Jaiswal will be making his 50 over debut after WC 2027.:phehe:

Jaiswal challenges rohit's position, its a surprise that they even selected him .

They could have easily said KL is reserve opener.

Humiliating enough that all the playoffs games will be played im Pakistan.

Icing on the cake will be if in the next tournament hosted by india, pakistan qualify for knock outs and india is forced to play their home games outside India.

Can see that happening, will be the ultimate beizzati. Godi media and BJP fanboys will hail that as a masterstroke, coming up with weird logic that we don't want Pakistanis on our land. Too much brainwash and party above country mentality.

People still don't realize how big that capitulation was, that too before a bankrupt, rudderless Pakistan with a cricket team with zero appeal.

Hoping against hope that better sense prevails, and we renege on that agreement.

Would have loved if we were in a tougher group so that this whole ecosystem (selectors, players cum leeches, board) would get humiliated with a group stage exit. Imagine us in a group with Australia, England and South Africa lmao.

Now, We will probably beat Pak and BD and get smashed in the SF.

Imagine the humiliation if they can't even get past the group stage from this group :giggle:

I know but it's highly unlikely. Pak and BD are mental midgets usually pee their pants against us under pressure.

Two things though...

1. We'll be playing at "Dewbai" and toss may well decide matches. Chasing will be a huge advantage.

2. Pak and BD have spinners and our passengers can't play spinners at all. Rohit is a certain wkt within PP and Kohli can't play spinners at all as we saw in SL and against NZ.

I wouldn't put it past either BD or Pak to beat us.

I hope this happens. BCCI has earned the humiliation..
