They blaming climate for these fires To some extent it was a perfect storm situation. They had extreme wet conditions suddenly they had extreme dry conditions. Wind was blowing at 100 mph. So it rapidly spread. Nothing could have been done. There was a reason why insurance cancelled many customers recently> They kinda expected this scenario as dry condition, high wind led to this scenario. Add to the fact California has water drought. Not like this is the first fire. But in recent times frequency of these fires have increased.
vvvslaxman
When the fire started it was around 10 acres at one point. In 25 minutes it spread to 200 acres. That is mind boggling speed.
vvvslaxman
Saw this movie 'Ony the Brave' based on true incident. When you think it is real it is gut wrenching. Wild fire happened there as well due to extreme and sudden shift in weather pattern.

You will not hear a peep from them when there is a report of lower than normal temperatures somewhere or during a quiet hurricane season. Someone please tell them: -Weather is not climate. -Every single disaster cannot be attributed to climate change. -These wildfires have happened there before fossil fuels and will happen again. -The human cost is due to extreme urbanization, which is in part fueled by the government greed for property taxes. On the flip side, -NYP blames "woke" for the fires. -MAGA climate change deniers are revving up their F350s in snow covered NC and going "vroom vroom see I told you global warming is a farce, you idiots." before sliding on black ice, landing in a nearby ditch and waiting for the government rescue units to come pull them out. vvvslaxman
This is not going to be the last for sure. In recent times these fires are more frequent. This can happen in other parts of the country as well. There is a perception "No place is safe in America". You face the wrath of earth quake or hurricane or tornado or wildfire or extreme snow or extreme heat. Our entire neighborhood was damaged by hale storm We are still working on the replacement of windows, sidings, garage door etc. Alam_dar

BacktoCricaddict
Here's a blame-no-one-in-particular article if anyone is interested in cutting through the circus https://www.vox.com/climate/394005/palisades-eaton-wildfire-los-angeles-santa-ana-winds-california-explainer "Wildfires are a natural part of the landscape in California, but the danger they pose to the region is growing because more people are living in fire-prone areas. That increases the likelihood of igniting a blaze and the scale of the damage that occurs when a fire inevitably erupts."

When you have 100 miles per hour wind nothing can stop it. It will put the lives of firemen under risk. I remember a teenager that started fire that cause destruction of 36000 acres https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/21/us/teen-ordered-to-pay-millions-for-starting-eagle-creek-wildfire-trnd/index.html BacktoCricaddict

vvvslaxman
Just now, coffee_rules said: He claims EU has less forest fires than CA because they maintain forests That is a wrong comparison. It is the topography. Also the wet weather followed by weather. They have something called "wildfire season" for a reason. Trump is remotely a qualified ecologist. ALl his life he just whings off one subject or other. I wouldn't pay attention to him.
