Pitches are fine if Pant, Jadeja,Axar, Ashwin can score. They are not even specialist bats. Main reasons is carrying deadwood and T20 stars

Man it was soo refreshing to see this t20 team. They go for everything rather poking and prodding all day long

Are they really? Axar's played only a handful of matches so his numbers are skewed a lot more favorably, same goes for Pants -

Take the longer term trend as well, no one's scoring runs down the order at home, Axar being the slight exception with his N/O while Pants has much smaller sample size!

The biggest reason is the nonexistent middle order; before 2020/21, Pujara/Rahane were good to great in most series at home. At least Pujara was ATG level, and Rahane was also serviceable. Then BRat lost the Chennai test vs. English and went apeshite on making turners almost nonstop for the next 2-4 years

No youngster will make/score big consistently in the middle/lower order if the pitches are this bad. So we need to change the pitches first!

I have always believed we should have pitches like we had vs England 2023. Good spinners were in the game, good batsmen were scoring big runs, fast bowlers were not left being useless.

Rohit (c)

hardik

Pant

Jaiswal

Jaddu

Axar

Washington Sundar

Bumrah

Shami

Arshdeep

Kuldeep

Rana is backup for bumrah

tilak and Abhishek are some serious talents ..both are talents as good as Virat and Rohit when they were at their peak. both these guys and yashasvi and Gill are our best 4 batsmen in any format. Abhishek may not be suitable for Tests but Gill, tilak and yashasvi are very well suited for all the three formats.

GG and agarkar should try to get rohit and jaddu out from the champions team and get these 2 guys in........

Abhi should be playing in white ball formats as he is ultra agressive. samson should actually play white ball formats and may be tests too.

as far as bowling is concerned i feel sardar is just good enough for t20 as he has customised his skills for t20. why he has nt been picked in tests is bcos selectors understand him.

genuinely rhythm bowlers can suceed in odi and tests like shammi and we need to find some true talents. we did find some talents including mayank yadav , umraan and few more but they have fitness issues or they are not getting the support that they deserve.

like varun aroon had the talent but he never got the support that's required.

one mumbai bowler salil ankola in tha past also had the talent but he did not get the support.

point i want to make is genuine fast bowler will always go for too many runs as he will spray and thats the time when he should be supported and trained and still played. he is an investment which will reap fruits later.

else we will have medium pacers who will get wickets with the new ball but once the ball is 10 overs old, our pacers except boom and shammi look ineffective.

a genuine fast bowler can get wickets even with a 15 over old ball by beating the batsmen with pace.

Ashwin is making a case for more left handers as all the opposition in the first round has left arm spinners. So he wants Jaiswal in the side.  He also wants Pant preferably.

Even Sundar should be ahead of Jadeja although I don't rate Sundar's LOI batting. At least that gives us all the variety in spin with Kuldeep, Axar and Sundar

Riyan Parag is now fully fit. Instead of Ranji, he should be added to the England series imo.

Why was Parag not selected in T20 and odi series, he was playing Ranji matches

ODI's because of seniors. Where will he play /be allowed to play?

Rohit and Kohli don't believe in batting allrounders at all. They picked both Sundar and Jadeja in the squad. That should tell you everything

India's depth and quality in T20 cricket is such that it's very difficult to even get a look in currently. If anyone , including SKY/Rinku, continues to fail , Parag should be the first guy to replace him

So it's merely coincidence that as soon as the coach changed, results started nosediving and haven't recovered ? It is obviously not a single cause but to pretend the coach has nothing to do with the sudden change in fortunes is to be wilfully blind to reality. The captain is obviously the main person who makes team selection decisions and that hasn't changed.

You are talking about the symptoms of late stage cancer and overlooking that developing cancer was ignored and untreated.

Dravid was a regressive coach who didn't plan for the future and let the superstars have their say. Kohli, rohit, all were performing exactly the same under him as under Gambhir

The difference was that youngsters and bumrah were able to save dravids ass

Dravid has a big role in what GG inherited, the time to take tough steps was under him, he chickened out and Gambhir is paying the price.

Last minute inclusion of Varun Chakarvarthy is on the cards seems like

Interesting. So, Kuldeep may not have achieved the requisite bowling fitness.

His impact might be diminished in ODI cricket with batters not looking to slog him every ball but let's see.

From ILT20 we saw Pacers doing more damage than spinners in Dubai.

Abu Dhabi might have favoured India more than Dubai.

But it has lesser capacity comparatively
