How will we reclaim home dominance?

This is India's home record under different captains. We went from utter home dominance to utter surrender in blink of an eye.  Now time to regain that. Reverse swing specialists are on the wane. Bumrah is alone cannot be the answer. Then we need solid spin unit that pose different challenges.  Same with batting unit that can bat for long periods. We had guys like Murali Vijay, early Pujara, Kohli who could bat for long periods, blunting anything thrown at them. Now we are left with washed up oldies.

Good news is India still has Kuldeep.
It is time to use him like he deserves to be and pull a late career reneissance like a Stuart McGill or so because Kuldeep has shown that he is a capable spinner in both home and away conditions and can keep up with the spin kings of the two Ravis as a trio.

With one of the two Ravis gone and the other one maybe having another 2 seasons left in him, its ideal scenario to bring back Kuldeep and make him front line spinner and give it his job until he fails or someone else better shows up.

This, along with finding another spinner/hoping if Washy's spin capacity at least at home will hold out will give India the solid spin base to be a home stalwart in the immediate future, as Bumrah is still solid gold in desi conditions and thats just 1 pacer away from a killer attack in home conditions.

Our Keeping is also in decent situation, with us having a good mix of players who have shown good to elite skills with bat or glove or both and are still fairly young: Pant, Jurel & Kishan, along with a couple of others like Samson etc. in the mix, so that wont be a big weakness for team india in the future either.

This leaves it up to the batting and IMO while it looks bleak for Indian batting now, as the saying goes 'the night is always the darkest right before dawn' and i am not too worried about India's ability to bat at home in the near future, **PROVIED** we can get rid of Kohli &  Rohit.

Because India can find decent middle order batters in Indian conditions at the very least but its difficult to find solid or great openers for any team and we just seem to have found one in jaiswal - if he turns out even as good as Graeme Smith, nevermind Gavaskar/Sehwag, it would still bode well for Indian batting in the near future as decent middle order bats in desi conditions are a dime a dozen and can be found right now even if we stopped all

the selection *-giri that BCCI is famous for.

We have enough spinners and batters to manage at home and had Jurel and Axar played against NZ, we would've beaten them as well.

No, I think the biggest reason, like in OZ, was that BRat & RGS played all 3 tests! With both of them playing, the chances of us winning have gone down close to 0 now

Jurel and Axar in place of Rohit and Kohli.

- Stop preparing landmines.

- Play 6 best batsman in the country in top 6.

- Play 2 best spinners and 2 best fast bowlers at home  even if they don't know how to hold the bat.

Drop Virat, Rahul and Kohli, pick domestic players who can negotiate spin well and we will continue with the home domination. As long as we keep picking the 3 players I mentioned at home, we have no chance of winning any series in India. Next time we will lose to BD as well as Ashwin has already retired and Jadeja might not be available to rescue us.

First thing first- Rohit and Kohli to be booted out asap from the system.

Rohit can go after CT ( hopefully we can win it and give him his farewell otherwise he will needlessly stick around)
Kohli can go after Eng tour(  He is a leech so he will not go. He will require another epic humiliation vs Eng)

Jaiswal and KL to open for the entire WTC cycle.

Need to try out a new No.3. Don't now who- maybe back Sai Sudarshan and give him four home tests to see if he can crack it.
Gill is your new no. 4
Pant at No.5
Washington at No. 6
Jurel or Sarfaraz at No.7 ( give either of them all 4 home tests)
Jadeja
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Shami

More options:
- If you are preparing landmines, Iyer can slot in middle order and one pacer can be dropped.
- Rinku can be an interesting option at No. 6 as well.
