Fakhar out.

India can now really bowl to a pattern and bog Pak down.

Fakhar has never been a problem for us except for that one match. And even then it was Bumrah's no-ball that was the reason he scored. On every other occasion he hasn't really made any difference.

India should abandon playing Cricket if they lose to this Pak side lol.

Lol, they are shameless, won’t abandon at any cost. Should have stopped after the NZ loss but here we are.

fakhar was the only batter in pak side who could have made the difference, he got injured now. Imam is getting the call-back.

He is another high average but low impact kind of batter. Babar might not open

Imam and usman might open

So you praise inconsistent, impact players in other countries but are against them when it's your own team?

Never said or suggested that I am against high impact player in white-ball.

And between fakhar and imam both averages nearly same 45-46 as openers and fakhar has more impact than imam.

If frm Pak batting remove fakhar/saim (in recent times) the top 4/5 are monotonous and create less impact during their innings

Don't under-estimate our crappy batting. Rohit is not gonna score everytime, and we all know what Kohli and KL are gonna do. Our batting lineup is quite fragile. Wish we had Jaiswal in there at the top of the order with Gill coming in at 3 and no Kohli. That simple change would greatly boost our chances of a win.

not getting what is fuzz about Ind batting ?? yes they looked mediocre in test series and losing at home to nz is big set back.

But here are some numbers from odis:

rohit  :

2023- avg :52- sr:117

2024-avg : 52 -sr-141

2025 -avg :41 -sr-120

gill

2023- avg :63- sr:105

2024-avg : 15 -sr-61

2025 -avg :120  -sr-94

kolhi

2023- avg :74- sr:98

2024-avg : 19-sr-84

2025 -avg :26  -sr-78

think s.iyer would have good numbers too.

Yes rohit and kolhi are aging and not in their prime, yes they can freeze vs big team or nz which is v.blanced and got all the areas covered , but if they lose against this pak team then should they even consider playing leagues or ipl ???

only way pak wins is if Ind loses top3 in 10-15 overs and not much on the board or some1 new plays blinder for pak and shock ind.

The problem with this team is that they have to bring their A team everytime. They don't have the team built for Plan B. If Rohit falls early, we're screwed as he's the only enforcer at the top of the order. Gill bats in Rohit's wake and Kohli is there to stall innings. After Rohit a lot depends on Iyer as he's the only one who can bat aggressively. Rohit's early wkt will put a lot of pressure and I don't think a lineup consisting of Kohli and KL Rahul can absorb it.

That's why Jaiswal was so important coz an opening partnership of Rohit and Jaiswal allowed us to absorb an early wkt easily. It wouldn't matter if either one got out early as the one who's in will continue to force the pace, and Gill at 3 is a perfect batter to support them followed by Iyer, Rahul (prefer Pant), Axar and Pandya. But a useless Kohli at 3 is a liability and simply kills the innings.

how can Ind's all hopes be on jaiswal ,he has not played 3 odis , these ppl have been playing and not letting other get a chance.

Gill is VC and they are seeing him as next all format/at least 2 format captain and he still needs aging rohit to build his innings then there is something wrong with the selections and panning. Posted this earlier this team looking at it as if they got 2 batters in kl/rohit/kl as they are not sure which 2 will freeze. this is similar to how they played t20i wc with kolhi losing it opening the innings.

A b/c string SA team score 350 score against pak think this is top ODI batting Ind has they should be able to do it.

Yes against a top side these can fail as they normally do in big matches but seriously this pak, they do not have fakhar as well now.

Ind fans saying if thy had jaiswal they would win ct is similar to how pak fans saying if they had saim they would have won. these batters have hardly played any odi cricket and were nt in the plans just couple of month back. so these kings, hitman, prince, fighter etc are no good??

Hope Gill and Sharma force this pathetic bowler Shaheen to be dropped from Pakistan team for good.  Form and fitness can go down and I don't mind that but Shaheen is one of those who got fame easily and could not digest it . He is not motivated to become a class blower , who would be good for tests and ODIs, just happy to make some money out of pajama cricket. Naseem and Rauf belong to the same category.

We can carry one non-performer but 2 is beyond us. Kohli is a certain failure and Jaiswal replacing him is a huge plus. If we continue carrying the same passengers, there'll eventually come a time when it catches up to you. We've already seen that based on the contrast between our T20 and ODI team performances. The ODI team was blanked by SL and here they crawled to a win. So yeah carrying passengers with no upside is a huge liability and keeping someone who's our best batter and at his peak is criminal.

Overcoming a stalled innings thanks to Kohli is not gonna happen everytime and we'll pay the price against a better team.

Simply because he is seen as a potential great in all 3 formats. A level above the rest.
ODI's are easiest format at this moment, thats why you see so many 50+ averaging batters across teams. The use of 2 new ball, lack of reverse swing and fielding restrictions till 40 overs have made the life easier for the batters.
But cut to Tests or even T20's, and you can see the difference. Gill, Rohit, Kohli, Iyer, KL all struggle there.

Jaiswal has passed the tough time with ease, now it's the time to build upon it. He may fumble in the process, but as long as he is honest with himself we have a gem in hands.

No one says Abhishek will take the team ahead, coz he has his own limitations. Maybe can work in ODI's but he will be inconsistent. If someone to be compared with Saim I think it's Abhishek.

I think we need to get through this CT tourney and hope is that from that point onwards we should be seeing at least 3 senior guys  going out of one day team immediately - Rohit, Kohli & jadeja.Looks like this was decided few months when india won T20 WC to give a last chance to them.

I think if this thing does not happen then it will be very bad for indian cricket. Hope sane minds will work towards rebuilding the team.

Till then need to be patient till we reach that time line.
