Afghanistan has more heart and talent than Pakistan

All aghan players grew up in peshwar refugee camps, have Pak ID & Passport. They learned all their jazba junoon from Pakistan

Babar and Rizwan should also spend some time in the refugee camps or in a Jail cell next to Dimran Khan because Pakistanis on PP were reduced to comparing hypotheticals like "Who will be more popular between Kohli and Imran if they are both playing currently".:giggle:

Imran would be caught ball tampering or spot fixing because of the ubiquitous cameras everywhere and would be spending time in London jails instead of the Pakistani ones.

Their team beat us in the Emerging cup didn't they( I didn't follow that game)? So they have proper talent coming through in next gen as well.

They beat us in Football too even though they bring these random journeymen a week before matches. They are a tagdi quam:hatsoff:

Will be a thorn in our side in the future:nervous:

Afghan uncles vs Indian kids.

I would give them that though. They don't have cricketing structure in place and the very fact they were able to have another team to compete and beat us at u-19 level (though with a few overage players) is creditable.

Hope they continue to get better and we have Afghanistan as a strong cricketing nation. The problem will come when they've to replace the current generation of players, i.e. after Taliban took over the nation. Let's see if cricket or any sports survives under them as they look upon sports and entertainment as "haram".

They should back up those good performances with some consistency. They were abysmal today.

Otherwise like BD in 2007 WC, they will show some flashes in the pan but will never be a serious team.

We also do age fudging. Shami is prime example.

Even Kohli looks more than his age

Is this why Shami suddenly looks like he cant bend his back anymore and bowls like a hunchback budhau ?!? is he really close to/already 40+ ? Kohli looks his own age maybe a bit younger- still has hardly any greys in his hair. and he doesnt look like hair colour dude to me...yet.

Please be a lie. I really want Shami to have one last hurrah, get to 300 test wickets and nudge that average below 25- something he can do in a last 2-3 year huzzah with Bumrah on his side.

Doesn't matter whether Shami is 40, 38, 36 etc. It's more than clear he's done. No way he lasts another 2-3 years. Maybe he can play 2-3 Tests in Eng this summer but that's about it.

Kohli is defintely closer to 40 or more, otherwise  you cannot explain him completely losing it.

you can. ego, not evolving his game, etc. can all make a great dude turn into fattu by mid 30s.

Kohli's reflexes are gone. You can see that when he tries to pull the ball and is late most of the times. Or the way he isn't able to judge line & length accurately and plays most of the deliveries on the back foot, even the spinners.

He's going through the exact same challenge which Sehwag faced in 2012-13. His eye sight and reflexes went down and he dropped off a cliff. Kohli had the same issue. Even if he scores runs in one-off match (e.g., at WACA or here against Pak), even that doesn't help him as he isn't going through a bad patch or loss in form. His 1 decent innings is followed by another 10 failures coz his reflexes are simply not what they were.

Keeping Jaiswal in his prime on the bench for Kohli is criminal at this point and I hope we don't lose a golden opportunity to win CT as things have lined up pretty well for us.

What ego?He always had weakness in his technique. It was his will do better which carried him.

That said I would take feiry prime Kohli over prime Sachin in any format .

if you have huge glaring weakness in your technique you dont rectify over 20 years, it means you are lazy or limited. simple. Prime kohli isnt fit to tie Sachin's shoelaces in tests or even in top order ODI with the old rules.

Kohli has an ego but that's true for every successful professional sportsperson. I'm sure even Tendulkar had one and likes of Rohit, Pandya, Iyer etc. have one too. But Kohli's problem wasn't ego but slowed reflexes. There's a reason he camps on the backfoot against spinners no matter the length, and is late on pull frequently.

Kohli can do whatever he can - play domestic cricket, become a saint or practice 3 months straight, it won't do much as it won't bring back his reflexes. Nobody can beat father time. He'll play occasional knocks where things go in his favor but these knocks would be once in a blue moon spread alongside numerous failures.

Do you think Sachin did not have any weakness. Every batsman has weakness. It is how they manage their weakness.

I know how good  Prime Sachin in any format  , he was mr steady eddy  and nothing more. Prime Kohli laps him all formats by a distance.

Sachin didnt have same weakness his whole career. Neither did Lara. Weaknesses happen as part of game, since you age as a person. But when you retain same weakness from day1 it can only mean one of two things - you are either lazy or not good enough to improve.

I dont think you know how good he was if you call him steady eddy. Because then you dont know the meaning of the term or didnt actually see prime sachin.

Prime kohli isnt fit to tie sachin's shoelaces in test format. He isnt even a great batsman in reality, while Sachin is in talk of GOAT for test format bar bradman. No contest.

Kohli has too much ego. You can see that from day1 of his career. Kohli is prime example of blurring the line between being arrogant vs confident.

But yes, father time has caught up to him, as well as his lack of work ethic as a cricketer to improve his flaws. Now its too late.

Yes, he was not as naturally talented as someother ind batter of the past were like sachin, dravid who were good naturally plus they had v.solid technique.

his success is attributed fitness and hardwork, he is fit but the reflexes are gone, when he came into oids his success was he had one of best sr for a batter after crossing 20 runs or was it 30 and he would play spinners to cover with long extensions and using bottom hand.

Also the game has changed he has to play 3 format and have to evolve with the rapid demands of the game where he is lacking can he hit multiple boundaries in an over to keep up with the tempo -no he wont do it that is not his game.

By now they should have decided to pick 1 format and concentrate on that or just retire from all format, they are trying to stay relevant in all 3 which is not possible, pace of the game is changing.

He has been a liability in Tests for 5+ years and is extremely inconsistent in ODIs as well. Both Kohli and Rohit need to be sidelined after CT across all formats.
