Those weren't two new balls, it was one new ball with 15 over PP, two catchers up close which isn't a thing anymore, then around 35 overs a similarly old ball (20-25 over?) that was used. I remember this from the 2k's not sure if this was also throughout the 90's or not. Heck we had red ball ODI's even till 2k rollingstoned 1

Heck we had red ball ODI's even till 2k 2 new balls maintain the consistency, cricket is still an ammeter sport but they have to bring consistency. Two 15 over used balls will not be the same. The simple solution is to increase boundary and let the fielding side have extra fielders, all these 2 balls, new balls not going to help. Theere will again be same cries and voices in 7-8 years, previously it was bats and now its balls. Increase boundary size to 70m have extra fielder in outfield this is a simple and effective solution. Will make game more professional and will decrease the variables from ground to ground and match to match.
crictime Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 Cricket has always struggled to find balance between bat and ball. Once upon a time, batsman used to bat on uncovered wickets, without even skull caps. The wicketd were exposed to the weather and it was totally in bowlers favor, especially permitting bodyline in such scenario. Now, the batsmen have got so much protective gear, the wickets are well covered, bodyline is out and rules are in favor of batsmen. Wrong LBW when batsmen had nicked it onto pads were given outs. None so woth DRS today. 100 years of cricket was played in unfavorable conditions for batsmen.Did any bowlers care about injury to batsmen by bowling bodyline, or bouncing them muktiple times in overs or bowling bramers purposely when they were hit around by batsmen. Did they raise voice for better protective gear for batsmen. Now the game has skewed to be batsmen friendly for 50 odd years. Rabada needs to accept the change.A time will come when right balance will be trend of the years. Bowlers cannot have it all the time, they have already had it enough in the past. To say that only batsmen were beneficiaries in the game of cricket is utter lie. Yes, he has a point which everyone is well aware, however he needs to have a perspective and look at the game since it was played professionally. There was a time that batsmen had to work hard for runs, and now is the time for bowlers to work hard for wickets.Get over it and improve till a new phase in cricket evolves as time passes by.

But it would help if we have min boundary size of 70m. Don't want to see 55-60m sixes. The 55 m boundary is like making a Mess of a hit and getting a 6. I truly agree with Rabada. Bowlers should get a green wicket too. or the pitch should have some thing in it for bowlers too. Indian Pitches has some thing in it for SPINNERS but nothing for Pacers. Ultimate_Game 1

There are 11 fielders, the bowlers bowl some extremely good deliveries, many batsmen play with cramps or some niggle and may not be in position to take a single. Some just need to see off the last ball off the opponents best bowler. It should be left to the batsmen whether to score 12 runs an over by hitting 3 fours or take six doubles. None of the cricket administrators concerns. Should not stoop at gully cricket level.
nitinbwj Posted March 25, 2025 Posted March 25, 2025 Chup kar Chewtiya Rabada. Saale get ready for an ass whooping against Aus in WTC Final. Minnow basher. Never performs against any big teams.
Vk1 Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 (edited) I don't remember seeing upper cuts in childhood until Sachin/Sehwag played it frequently. Nowadays even top edges and switch hits are going for six. Introduction of throwdown specialists has further made it easier for batsman to lineup even against the super fast bowlers. Add Impact sub.. mindset change after the arrival of millenians born in T20 eras.. day is not far when even 400 will be scored. Edited March 26, 2025 by Vk1 tapandrun 1
vvvslaxman Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 (edited) If you really want to restore balance between ball and bat bid for players like Pujara, will young, Kane williamson, Kraigg brathwhite, Bavuma. That is the best way. Every team must have atleast a couple of tuk tukers. Edited March 26, 2025 by vvvslaxman Vk1 and tapandrun 2
Tillu Posted March 26, 2025 Author Posted March 26, 2025 IPL 2025: There is no par score anymore, says Arshdeep Singh on high-scoring trend in 2025 Arshdeep, who was the highest wicket-taker for his side with the two important wickets of Sai Sudharsan and Sherfane Rutherford, believes there are no par scores anymore in the format. He also praised Impact Substitute Vijaykumar Vyshak for consistently finding the wide yorker in pressure situations and allowing his side to control the game. “The thought was simple and very clear – make them hit to the off-side, it is not easy to hit there if they hit a good shot, clap, say well played, and go again. “Really happy for him (Vyshak), he is putting in the hard yards in the practice, was executing the yorkers really well in practice, and the results showed in the game as well. If you want to miss, miss on the wider side and not on the stumps. Even if it slips, even if it’s a full-toss, it won’t be easy for them to hit as it’s very far from their reach. “Credit goes to all the batters who went in and smashed from ball number one. That’s how it goes in this format nowadays. There is no par score, 240, 250, 260 – score as much as possible and then try and defend it,” said Arshdeep in the post-game presentation.

From what i heard Arshdeep was the one who made the suggestion to Iyer about starting wide line yorkers early. Usually they do that in the 19th and 20th over.
raki05 Posted March 27, 2025 Posted March 27, 2025 (edited) He should start with bowling better outside of his country. He is mostly home track bully.Though boundary size should be atleast 1000 meter long ….. heard king viv and all 9 ft tall old monster used to clear it with gulli danda stick.
