zen Posted April 8 Posted April 8 (edited) While GT made Pandya appear like a star captain, his stint with MI appears to be going nowhere, bringing him back to the ground (if not burying him). Has already won a wooden spoon in his first season. In the second season, he is scrapping the bottom at the moment, making him a strong contender for another wooden spoon (would be back to back if it happens). He does not appear to be as respected as captain at MI as he would like to believe. Probably, it is only a matter of time before the Ambanis fry him. Should he leave the captaincy with (some) dignity? Or is there a spark left? Edited April 8 by zen
nevada Posted April 8 Posted April 8 He should quite if MI fails to make it to the play-offs. Quitting captaincy now would throw the team into further turmoil.
Mariyam Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Where is the dignity is defying contractual obligations and giving up when the chips are down?

His contract is as a player available in whatever capacity. If he is not getting the job done as captain, he should quit with whatever remaining dignity. Unless you feel he can turn things around?

Not sure I want to pin losing these many games to Ha Pa's captaincy solely. He should try and help course correct as a captain.

Ambanis should stay clear of any player for captain who plays politics (where applicable) and/or creates controversies (even through paid PR) be it - Pandya, Rohit, Bumrah, SKY, Tilak, etc. Long association with MI could have brought a feeling of entitlement. Tell them strictly that none of you will be the captain. Edited April 8 by zen

Mariyam Posted April 8 Posted April 8 @zen I don't get how you tie in 'dignity' with losing a few games as a captain?
zen Posted April 8 Author Posted April 8 8 minutes ago, Mariyam said: @zen I don't get how you tie in 'dignity' with losing a few games as a captain? Because his team got a wooden spoon and now is again in the hunt for another one. A captain should quit after such shameful performances. Add to that the controversies - Booing (though could be Rohit’s PR), fighting (with Tilak who could equally be at fault), formation of camps, etc. Even Tendulkar (or Ponting) left mid season if I am not wrong (before 2013). Mi has gone back to pre 2013.
rkt.india Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Instead MI should drop Lolit and sky. He isn't getting support from them.

Rohit sharma is more past by sell date than MSD. When will they realize. That guy is hurting them big time occupying a critical spot. Also SKY's poor form is not helping. Pandya's treatment of TIlak doesn't help him either.
