English news viewership is down in the dumps, 1% market share. Hindi usage has excelled...the kochi guy who I met in Ajmer spoke fluent Hindi...he was in IBM Kochi... people in IT/Software also use English only in ppt presentations, and sometimes talking to tamil folks. Indians are getting the sense bigtime how fake\lame\wannabes they look conversing in English when both the people conversing are Indians. Hindi sentences mixed with English words is the present and the future of South Asia. Lord and singhvivek141 1 1

In Hindi you speak your heart. There is not a lamer thing in the world than the sight of an Indian trying to speak English like it's his mother tongue phrases like 'bro' 'shi' lol. Abey yar, English technical/official writing ke liye hai, aur jyada se jyada online forums pe chat ke liye hai. In real world, you use Hindi or Hinglish to converse with people of a different region. people are liberal enough to use English words within a Hindi sentence. I am a 100% sure if ever @Gollumn @Lone Wolf meet they will talk in Hindi, pata nahi kya baat kar rahe hai yahan. Hindi commentary is worst example bro... Likes of Jhopda, Deep Das and Raina Bhajji can make your ears bleed... Zero insight as well. Even good Hindi commentators (are they?).. would not come near even a Pommie Mbnagawa level. It is the perfect example that what a non essential language can do to a specific field. Cricket and sports in General like Economics work mostly in English terminology and can be fully explained that way as well. Communication within the country or region is different matter. I can only communicate a guy from Kerala or TN to English or even a guy from Nagaland who has no inclination to my culture or Traditon.. through English only. That's the thing that brings us together. As @Gollum said India is lucky That we got a headstart that countries like So Koz China, Japs never got... They have had to invest heavily to get to that point but we got handed everything on a platter. Pakistan too btw was at an even bigger advantage post Independence. Gollum and Lord 1 1

We need a Ghatak variant with 500km to 1000km combat radius capable of carrying 3-4 BVR and 1 Brahmos. Thats 2000kg carrying capacity across 4-5 hardpoints. AESA radar and strong networking ability. Stealth is not going to be an issue. Expect stealth of 0.01. Key issue is cost. a single one needs to be under $30million. 52kn dry thrust will be needed which Kaveri can produce. Look at Turkey struggling... Paying premium amount for a 4.5 gen fighter. Same problem like India... The engine issue for their 5th gen KAAN. 535 million dollar for 1 Typhoon... Brits robbing them in broad daylight.
Mariyam Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 @randomGuy I’m with GM @Gollum On this one. Try going through a title deed in Hindi. Or try doing due diligence for a property that you wish to purchase and has documentation in Hindi. Let me know if you are able to clearly follow what is being laid out. Even Harivanshrai Bachchan would be at a loss. randomGuy and Gollum 2

Only when you go through the same again and again, it all starts to make sense. Plus, the reason, we all struggle to understand is coz most of us are English medium educated. How many of us know here that an "equilateral triangle" is called "Sambaahu tribhuj", an isosceles triangle is called "Samdwibaahu tribhuj" and a Scalene Triangle is called "Vishambahu Tribhuj". It's because we've either not learnt or simply have forgotten to use these in our day to day lives. The moment we start doing the same, things will fall in place and our understanding will become better. Edited October 28, 2025 by singhvivek141 Mariyam 1

I've grown up listening to Akashvaani (AIR) commentary in my childhood for many matches. The entire India-Pak tour of 2003 I listened on radio, the commentators back then were excellent and had the ability to provide the coverage w/o any mix of English words. You could feel the entire match happening live in front of you. Now, we've cheerleaders and ex-cricketers as commentators. Instead of match, they're more interested in shero-shayari.. Even if we end up a semi advanced engine with afterburner, it should be seen as an achievement. Now they're in 7th Gen and now they've gained solidity in design. G_B_ 1
G_B_ Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 this is why i think India should have focused on radar missiles etc for jets. Then moved onto the heavy duty stuff. The Tejas program was too much for India in the 80s and 90s. We are struggling with engines for our jet, helicoptors and tanks....

LKY is the greatest post WW-II political leader IMO. No wonder his funeral attracted all top world leaders at that time. Also the idol of Modi, Shinzo Abe and many other prominent figures. Bhai, any sarkari document in Hindi makes my head spin. Even straightforward stuff which takes me 10 seconds to process in English. And I am someone who considers himself very comfortable in the language, and not just speaking, mind you.....even in school days, out of own interest, I used to read Godaan, Eidgah, and most of Munshi Premchand's works during class hours. I started learning Hindi around the same time as English, my grandmother taught me the alphabets when I was 5 or 6, so even before being taught in school (as 2nd language) I was initiated. I am less fluent in Bengali than Hindi in reading/writing (though when people hear me speak, they assume I am Bengali), and uska toh poocho hi mat. Would take me an eternity to process information. There is something in English which makes it very convenient. Mariyam 1

I just gave an example, that words exist. It's just that we don't use it anymore, so it has gone off from our memory. For ex...in Hyderabad, I hardly use the hindi words for below, coz there is no one who uses the lingo. But the moment I step in my hometown, the subconcious memory get active coz that lingo is commonly used/heard there. Mortage : Girvi Vendor : Vikreta (bechne wala) Vendee : Kreta (Kharidne wala) Lessor : Pattedar (seller of the lease) Lesse : Pattagrahi (buyer of the lease) Equitable Mortgage : No idea (I hardly paid attentioned to this word even in English) Hereinafter : Agrim rup me (kinda like an alias) Aforementioned : Purv me ullikhit/purvokt (highlighting something written earlier) randomGuy and Mariyam 1 1

singhvivek141 Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 So the DAC approval to upgrade 80 Sukhoi to Super Sukhoi was done in Nov 2023, and from last 2 years MoD is awaiting the approval from CCS (Cabinet Committee on Security). No wonder we're crawling, these approvals shouldn't take more than 3 months. Even for AMCA, the contract allocation will be done in Next year, despite submission done by the vendors. WTF. RajNath Singh need to focus on this, if possible ramp up the def budget to 2-2.25% of GDP (currently it's around 1.5%). https://defence.in/threads/mod-to-seek-ccs-approval-for-super-sukhoi-upgrade-of-80-su-30mki-aiming-to-boost-iafs-operational-readiness-amid-dwindling-squadrons.15899/
