What is he guilty off. He has already paid 6800 crores.He was born with silverspoon and he expanded his business but failed due to various circumstances.

That was just the principal amount AFAIK

 

Plus he didnt pay salaries of 15 months to his staff.

bankes were asking him to pay 1200 crore  interest as well , but mallya thought he can outsmart YOUR SBI & co by paying only the principal amount

He should have continued with the daru business. But he felt too good of himself and entered budget airlines. A costly business mistake.

Contrary to media opinion of him being thief of 6000-9000 cr, he was charged for some 200 cr only for being wilful defaulter.

 

Rest of the charges are fraud, money laundering, cheating, tax evasion.

 

So it doesn't matter whether and how much did banks recovered. He gave nothing willingly. Those charges of fraud and money laundering won't go away just by paying loan.

 

On the other hand one can say that he is probably unlucky. Probably businesses run this way only and Mallya was one who got caught. He was stupid to provide personal guarantee otherwise he also could have escaped like Anil Ambani.

So banks could waive interest, lot of airlines even in US get govt support.He expanded business which he took from his father.His only fault is getting into airline business.All his money was locked up by banks. I don't think he ever wanted to defraud his employees.

 

He lived a pompous life that is what people are furious.He was born rich and lived a mega life .

Are Ambani and Adanis paying taxes and they are saints.Dhirubhai did everything legal??

 

He is no saint but I don't think he is crook like Choksi and Nirav modi.

Biggest issue with kingfisher airlines was he acquired Air Deccan and started giving same service as KFA and losses multiplied ( just 10-15% mkt share in that too in premium segment is easy to finance ) 

 

and Mallya bought air Deccan only because he want to start international flights ( KFA can’t start because they need atleast 5+ yrs of domestic operation ) 

 

he might have still survived if not for the crude oil hitting 150 dollars , stars were aligned against him :Saturn:
