How would you react if ICT fails to chase this total?

Expected only. Once or twice in a decade we have a good chase.

Maybe we will have one more 200+ chase in rest of the decade. Had a chance in 24 Hyderabad but choked there also against Hartley.

Won't blame the 2nd innings.  The fiasco in the first innings with KL and Pant denied us a good 70-80 run lead.  

 

First innings lead was crucial.

We couldnot chase 145 against NZ at home few months ago.  In Jan 2024, we could not chase 190 vs Eng at Hyd.  Failed to chase 180 vs Eng at Edgsbaston in 2018.    Is there anything new??

Anything under 300 is cheap, jujubi chase that we will not indulge in. Give us a big, challenging chase, then you will see ;-)!!

That was a fluke.  Can happen in cricket.   In 1996, Venkatesh Prasad hit 2 back to back sixes & a four off Saqlain.  That didnot turn him into a better batsman.   Same with Bumrah (who is & will remain a complete dud with the bat)

Anything over 150 and I don't expect them to win unless Pant does something special. That's why the Gabba win was so special and I rate Pant so high. We can't chase anything and Pant managed to chase around 330 on 5th day! People don't know how special that innings was knowing the way we crumble at hint of pressure in 4th innings.
