Broad Anderson all have played long series. You need endurance to withstand the rigors of five test series. indian fast and seam bowlers don’t have it. I referred to Anderson and Broad too. They managed to play long test series because they did not play any other format after some years and this is how they managed their workloads. Plus they did not bowl full tilt for the last many years of their careers. They had average speeds in the early 130s. The current English pacers, who focus a lot on T20s, are not durable test bowlers. Mosher 1

If they want to play all formats it is upto them , they then cannot use that as excuse. Indian fast bowlers simply are not capable of playing five test series.IMO they are just not good enough to have that intensity to play all five tests . At home spinners take bulk load so playing five tests at home is okay. Edited July 27, 2025 by putrevus

Nobody cares what their priorities are, if they don't want to play test cricket that is fine let them make way for players who want to play test cricket. Finding great young pacers will be difficult but finding young Indian fast bowlers who want to play test cricket is not going to be hard. Siraj has played all four tests and I don't think anyone can find fault with his effort. He will play next test too. Finding bowlers like Siraj is not going to be difficult. That is why Aussie trio are way and above guys like Bumrah in my book. You cannot be effective for the team if you don't play. Playing five test series is a privilege and it seperates pretenders from contenders and All time greatness. I am happy India is playing five test series, and I hope they keep doing it. Their best go to football, rugby, AFL, tennis, boxing, MMA, cycling etc. And cricket in Eng is a very posh sport, played in some private schools...general public doesn't care (correct me if I am wrong @LordPrabhzy @Austin 3:!6). Not just football, 5-6 other sports have overtaken cricket since 2005 Ashes. No such restriction/bottleneck in a one sport country like India (only some pockets in Haryana/Punjab/NE where there is genuine craze and ambitions to excel in other sports. ) where most athletically inclined people want to become the next Sachin, MS, Kohli. Basically we play mid-tier/reject athlete goras in this sport. Yes, most of the feeder players on county come from Private shcools, the state school system doesnt have any resoruces or coaching to produce really good cricketers as a general rule. Cricket is probably the 4 or 5th most popular sport in the country and players in semi pro saturday leagues like Bradford league have better fitness and standards than Indian players thats why 95% of players in these leagues are white and most of the indian players ( uncles etc) play in lower shitty divisions. Its attitude as well, white players focus on technical play, skills, shot making, rotating strike but our indian players treat matches like a joke and blindly slog.. only want to bat, no game awareness, fielding skills ko to chodo Gollum 1

Priority is and should be to win big test series, especially away from home. Just playing a mediocre bunch of players for 5 test series, and losing, makes no sense. Play 4 test series and 3 test series with high quality players and play well and win. Be smart. Edited July 27, 2025 by express bowling Mosher 1

India won test which Bumrah did not play and has not won any test which he played. So playing bowlers who are willing to play tests and then 5 test series is first step.We don't need players who want to conserve so that they don't get hurt. In India test cricket is still held at very high standard. BCCI in my opinion has done great job in providing amenities for these players. They have to play five test series against good teams that creates more drama. You just need to find durable players, not depend on one bowler. Guys like Kohli and Shastri gave it all to turn India into great visiting team.It is now upto others take things forward. All young players like Gill have given everything here, they care a lot about test cricket. So test cricket is in fine health.Only thing we need to do is remove guys like Gambhir and get some competent people to coach. Edited July 27, 2025 by putrevus
MechEng Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 @Gollum its not just the diet but genetics too determines sporting excellence. White and black races will still put on muscle and gain strength more easily than South Asians if fed the same Indian diet on a regular basis. Heck, I might get abused here if I say this but Pakistanis on average too are more gifted physically than Indians and Bangladeshis. Its just that they don't have the brains to manage that talent unlike Turkey or Iran and rely too much on josh jazba junoon. Indians excel more on cerebral tasks. That's why you will find that a standard Gujju entrepreneur has sharper business acumen than a Harvard passout despite not having much formal education.

So, a 4 test match series is as important as 5 match series. India don't need to announce their financial supremacy by playing a grueling 5 test series. They can very easily create their own marquee series ( 4 matches). Teams are skipping tests - even SA & NZ but India is playing 5 against Aus & Eng but only 2 tests vs NZ, SA. That for me is serious imbalance. Gollum 1

We will need players who want to play and excel in test cricket. All young players in this series have shown they are very much interested in playing test cricket.
