Lone Wolf Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Inclined to keep the core group in batting intact. We don't have many Test class batters in India anyways Pitches need to be better. Prepare seaming tracks for Windies tests. Pick Pacers who can bowl close to 140 Harshit Bumrah Siraj (find anyone like Simarjeet Gurnoor, Yudhvir etc) Taller Pacers must be non floaty when they pitch it full. Kuldeep Sen is non floaty. A fast bowling All rounder ... Fast-track Raj Bawa learn on the job basis Sundar Kuldeep Axar to be our frontline spinners Retire Fraudeja Sack Gambhir.. strict instructions to Morkel to scout fast bowlers bypassing Agarkar and sack Agarkar along the way. Suhaan Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 You can suggest n number of ideas but they think everyone is readymade,if a falana dhikana has played good number of FC he's deemed as ready but in case of pacers even that is not enough, God knows what they want from a rookie pacer, this mal handling of pace prospects is worst in the world I always want these Tyagis Umran Simar Mayank Kul Sen to leave for SENA and perform there Pacers in India take there sweet time to.mature even a random guy knows this despite this they tend to bring them in late 20s by the time they get used to things they loose pace and fitness Agarkar too is fraud, fraud in the sense he was talking all.sense wrt pacers but the moment he took over we are forced to see Mukesh,Avesh Kamboj zaleel periodically Lone Wolf, tweaker and Gollum 3

I hope Windies surprise us in one test like they did to Poyzz. Saffers are in for a serious chance as well. They are a much better and younger side than Kiwis. Indian test cricket will continue to fall in unimaginable depths if something isn't done.

Kohli was always clear about his pace attack,he wanted good aggressive attack ,but thing is he had the liberty to choose from then young Umesh,Shami,Ishant and Bumrah Even Aaron who played vs SA in late 2015 under Kohli and Arun(for a brief period) bowled superbly and unfortunately got injured Atleast get a good fast bowling coach who's proactive and get those guys he thinks can do the job not with the miserable lot we have in Prasidh,Kamboj, zaleel,Avesh etc express bowling, Mosher, singhvivek141 and 1 other 4
Gollum Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Go back to preparing home pitches like 2013-20. Rank turners should be occasional, not regular. If we play 5 tests in a season, you can have 1 rank turner, 1 green pitch, and remaining 3 should be traditional Indian test match wickets. That was our magic formula post 2012 Eng, especially in Kohli era where we didn't shy away from giving NZ (with young, peak Boult/Southee/Henry/Wagner) a greentop in 2016 Kolkata. Likewise I remember a green top against Lanka, and the 2017 Dharamsala pitch, a series decider, was Aussie like. In fact some series like 2016 Eng, 2017 Lanka, 2019 RSA were absolute pattas where bowlers had to work so hard....and batsmen were spending hours on the crease churning up big 100s. Rohit-Dravid opted for easy way out, by ordering designer pitches. They came back to their senses against Bazballers in 24 but then back to old ways under GG against NZ, in final 2 tests. In NZ series, Chinnaswamy was a perfect pitch, just that our fool of a captain opted to bat first after pitch being under covers for more than a week, and charging against Southee in first over Suhaan, rollingstoned, BacktoCricaddict and 1 other 4
Gollum Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) 4 home tests against WI, RSA later this year. Brave thing will be to let go of remaining seniors (KL, Jaddu) as well and go with a new look team. Against WI in October.... Jaiswal Easwaran (don't give him a long rope, just a couple of chances) Sai Gill Pant Sarfu/Iyer Washi Axar/Bawa Kuldeep Rana/Akash Bumrah/Siraj 15 members here, Jurel as backup keeper. Total 16, enough for a home series. Edited July 26, 2025 by Gollum Lone Wolf 1

I want to see Easwaran play a couple of games just for closure. Keeping him sidelined may not be a good message to our FC performers who slog in year after year, there may be some late bloomer over there like Mike Hussey. Home tests is where we can gamble on these kind of players. Lone Wolf, Lord and rollingstoned 3
express bowling Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 ■ Focus should be on taking 20 wickets ASAP. Need 4 high quality bowlers in the playing 11. Can't choose bits and pieces players masquerading as bowlers. Need strike bowlers. ■ Need atleast 1 express pacer in the playing 11. Need atleast one enforcer. Our pacers are too dependant on moving the ball from 2023 onwards. Shami and then Bumrah acted as enforcer pacers from 2016 to 2022. But they are not bouncy anymore. ■ Make our bowlers practice batting. Even 15 to 20 runs is good enough. ■ Unless a pacer is exceptionally skilful, he must have either 140 k+ pace or steep bounce or both. Need a couple of skiddy quick pacers too. This practice of choosing military medium or just medium pacers with average skills make no sense at all. If a pacer lacks both pace and bounce then his other skills should be amazingly good. ■ Need to create a pool of bouncy quick pacers, skiddy quick pacers and wrist spinners to take care of different conditions. Swing bowlers need to be atleast Fast-medium. We are lacking good quality bouncy quick pacers and not playing the wrist spinner. ■ Young pacers should debut within age 23. Pacers, especially Indian pacers, are not ready made products and need time to mature. If they debut at age 29 then they will be 32 by the time they become good bowlers. Problem is our selectors fans are myopic. Either they think having tall faster Pacers is counter productive or they don't exist in the country. Safety first approach means they select rank Trundler in search for accuracy. But problem right now is even Trundlers are ineffective across formats for us. express bowling 1
Number Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) Easy way out by preparing rank turners has put our cricket 10 years behind. This nonsense started when we lost first test against England at Chennai in 2021 and resorted to 2 day pitches. We play 60% our tests in India and in those 1. Fast bowlers have no role - so no development of them. 2. Batsmen forget the art of batting long because 50 runs is a decent innings on those pitches. 3. Spinners don't know what to do on pitches with no assistance. They look totally clueless. Edited July 26, 2025 by Number adi B, Lone Wolf, rollingstoned and 1 other 4

No it started under Brat only, 2017 first two tests were among the worst turfs across 2010 decade - yes those two were especially bad. Oh did so many of you also forget SA 2015 series as well, the reason Brat gave those pitches were because he was afraid of losing! That *wit was no saint He used this tactic only against strong teams, whereas against weak SA/NZ they gave much better pitches! Of course for some reason they thought we had peak Pujara/Ashwin or Jadeja last year but alas ended up with the worst humiliation ever at the hands of sheep shaggers Number 1
express bowling Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) Outside Asia .... 1. Jaiswal 2. Rahul 3. Jurel / Sai ( backup for top 3 ) 4. Gill 5. Pant 6. Sarfraz / Shreyas ( backup middle order batter ) 7. Washington / Nitish / Bawa ( batting allrounder ) 8. Harshit / Gurnoor ( hit the deck pacer who can bat a bit ) 9. Kuldeep Yadav / Siraj ( based on pitch ) 10. Bumrah / Siraj 11. Kuldeep Sen / Other Express pacer ** Harshit and Sen can't be introduced at the same time. So they need to be got ready one by one, with Bumrah and Siraj playing together in the meantime. In Asia .... 1. Jaiswal 2. Rahul 3. Jurel / Sai ( backup for top 3 ) 4. Gill 5. Pant 6. Sarfraz / Shreyas ( backup middle order batter ) 7. Washington 8. Axar 9. Harshit / Sen ( get them ready by rotation ) 10. Kuldeep Yadav 11. Gollum Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 (edited) After this series, we have only 2 more tests in SENA for next 2.5 years, the series in NZ next Aug-Sep. New FTP not released yet but we may tour RSA in '27 Dec-'28 Jan (assuming 4 years pattern holds), long way to go. 11 tests in SC as part of this cycle, 9 in India and 2 in Lanka where I am sure we will be welcomed with rank turners and 4 pronged spin attack. In 2026 we are scheduled to play only 5 tests, 1 at home against Afg in June (outside WTC cycle), 2 test series in Lanka and NZ. Awful scheduling. Prabhdeep Singh Posted July 26, 2025 Posted July 26, 2025 Go with the following in India, need to give games to Arshdeep and Akashdeep vs WI, no point using Bumrah at home, not sure the status of Shami, Siraj has been too expensive. Jaiswal KL Easwaran Gill Pant (WK) Sarfaraz/S Iyer/Tilak Axar/R Jadeja W Sundar Akashdeep Kuldeep Yadav Arshdeep A couple of other players in squad: H Rana Jurel (WK)
