I have my reservations about Tilak in ODI

Not watched today of course but from looking at it, he doesn't seem to be able to accumulate briskly, and may be gets bogged down between trying or going for big shots

There's a specialist skill in ODI of finding gaps

He'll learn.

Arshdeep getting thrashed by McGurk and Harvey.

Harshit seems to be bowling better

Arshdeep has gone for 33 from 3 overs.

Harshit has beaten McGurk 3 times in a row and given him a mouthful.

Where this is being televised..

Arshdeep I dont like for ODIs.. dont think he has stats supporting it too.. I assume he bowls 120s in List A and FC matches..

if ptches dont offer movement..he will be ineffective at that pace..

He does not have that rhythm/snap that he showed briefly during the Bangladesh T20 series.

Bog average trundler unless he is at his very best.

Should not, in any way, be playing long format cricket.

Arshdeep is not a test bowler, or for that matter test bowler.

He is good t20 bowler, bowls mid-high 130s and touches early 140 kmph on effort balls.

There will alway be a decrease in pace in longer format .

He should not be looked as test or Odi prospect but okay to give him chances so that he gets game time and important that he is able to bowl 10-15 overs a day only then he will be able to maintain whatever speeds he in bowling for a long time and longterm

We totally forgot this dude Bishnoi lol He was world no.1 ranked T20 bowler at one point of his career. @Chaos idolizes him.  Pakistanis struggled against him.

And a brilliant fielder. But I think at one point everyone was feeling he was 1-dimensional - googly only, and could be taken apart by skilled international bats.

Needs to go back and learn.

Kuldeep and Varun did. Kuldeep disappeared post 2019 and came back in 2023. Varun left in 2021 and returned in 2024.

Since Kuldeep will now get more test opportunities due to Ashwin retiring, Bishnoi will get lots of white ball bilaterals.

I tend to agree. He seems like a WIP ODI player . Plays too many dot balls and then plays the big shot. No fluency and knack of taking singles missing as of now. Hope a permanent place in India T20  X1 and captaincy being given to him in some matches makes him confident . Just needs to rotate strike and take lot more 1s and 2s . Even yesterday do not think he got much runs with tailenders. Was taking single pretty early in the over and getting to non-striker end.  All those asking for him in ODI will start abusing if he plays the way he is playing in ODI  currently.  That is the one shortcoming need to be corrected.

Are we ruining ABhishek by playing him in ODI?  He is trying to play carefully. Are they preparing back up poster boy being good lookign and all?

In ODI we have too  many overs. Rohit at his peak could bat deep and do the damage. Unless they consider him as an all rounder we shouldn't spoil him by playing in ODI. He is playing cautiously.
