In ODI we have too  many overs. Rohit at his peak could bat deep and do the damage. Unless they consider him as an all rounder we shouldn't spoil him by playing in ODI. He is playing cautiously.

How is he playing Cautiously?  Today Prabhsimran went Berserk in PP.  He is a brute Power player.

First wicket went at 83 today.  Prabh was likely going all out in PP.  Abhishek hasn't got to do much today.

By his standard 22 in 22 is slow. That guy scores 44 in 22 usually.

Todd Murphy bowled at him in PP.. can't judge based on scorecard.  He might be giving strike to Prabhsimran who was going all guns blazing.  Scoring 80 odd in PP almost.

Abhishek had no reason to play with these games with no consequence in the first place.  Should have just been there for his sister's wedding.  I doubt guy barely had any net session prior to the games.

He is a T20 emperor . Probably will become an ATG T20 layer. We have plenty of  these semi conservative openers for ODI. Jaiswal will be slotted in after Rohit.  PRabhsimran has been an opener all his career unlike Abhishek who is a converted opener.

We need to look into Vipraj Nigam. Finally we found a leg spinner who can bat decently. Good innings of 22 from him. Harshit Rana laid egg

Yeah. Won the game with boundaries.

India A won a thriller lmao.. handy runs by Vipraj in the end but his bowling remains a issue.  Even likes of Abhishek outbowled him today.

Vipraj is an experiment for sure. I don't care if they experiment at A level.

Could be post Ro Ko retirement who knows what's the top order gonna look like.  There will be 1 spot empty at the top.

Jaiswal Gill and who else.  Likes of Abhishek Arya and even Prabhsimran could be competing for that second future opener spot.

Vaibhav looks good even in ODIs /Tests. He is like Sehwag. Plays well in all 3 formats.

Lots of openers , though

Need a number 4 ,5 who bata high SR

One is Tilak,other maybe Parag

where do we slot in Suryavanshi, given he carries his momentum

I mean they are trying Abhishek as opener. NOthign wrong in trying there. I just don't want him to alter hsi style. But players inadvertently end up adjusting their approach. Even KL Rahul was batting at very high strike rate at the start of his career. THen became an uber tuk tuk Kela after playing all 3 formats. We don't want one format corrupting other format approach.

@Nikhil_cric @Gollum  such a brainless call to not pick this guy.

Both our ODI and T20I units have issue with proper finishing..with Pandua mostly hit and miss.

It's completely brainless to pick Washington Sundar in ODIs let alone SENA ODI's.

India picking 3 spinners in every ODI squad must stop, that too an offspinner.

Parag adds so much more to the squad.

Vaibhav is too leg sidish.  He isn't ready.  Should be playing FC level cricket and then T20 stuff at present.

Way too raw and undercooked.

Sai is also an option at #3 once Kohli declines beyond a point of no return.  Abhishek does not have a reliable method yet for longer formats. Jaiswal and Gill will open

Don't think Sai is in the picture.  They will likely go with Arya/Abhishek or Prabhsimran (offers keeping as well)

Abhishek is front runner with no two new ball rule anymore and role of part timer increasing as well.

Ashwin is not retained in IPL and not picked in ILt20 is more than evidence that an off-spinner is not required in white ball cricket specially t20s.

Off-spin has to come from a proper batter. All other teams make their batters to bowl off-spin if needed in t20is
