There's more corruption involved when loans are given by Banks to the likes of Mallya rather than any corruption between the branch managers etc. Everything is computerized now.

I knew someone will come with that argument. But thats done at top level. Atleast this policy checks local  MLA and their acquaintances level people and branch manager level corruption 

 

Simple, Just because Mallaya can do it in cahoots with centre minister and ceo of Bank doesn’t means @bsriharsha is allowed to do same.

See any sort of violence needs stop. People should be allowed to speak what they please. Even if its English. If two people speak in hindi in mumbai it does not bother me.

And i agree let all state business or courts operate in marathi alone. As stated before maharashtra needs to review teaching hindi in state boards if poeple dont have civic sense to grasp basic marathi. Your free to talk and learn hindi. Take legal steps.

I happen to be not sentimental about languages... languages come, go, evolve etc....arnd 400-500 languages have gone extinct in last 50-60 years alone. Not saying Marathi is going extinct but it's a perspective worth looking at....

 

My mother tongue Sindhi is spoken in ulhasnagar in Mumbai, sardar nagar,mani Nagar, kuber Nagar etc in Ahmedabad, 40-50% of ajmer city is Sindhi. it is OK to talk in Sindhi with some Sindhi speaker , won't expect a non Sindhi to learn Sindhi if he's living in Sindhi area.

 

Hindi happens to be the 2nd largest language 2 billion speakers out of 8 billion humanity  There probably isnt a Maharashtrian who doesn't speak Hindi. It is important for national integration. My belief is hindi should be sufficient in anywhere in India. Will get there shortly if not already there.

Total number of speakers of Hindi + Urdu (non native) does not even total 1 billion, let alone 2 billion.

I too want a homogenous language across the country. But let it be Sanskrit. I welcome Sanskrit imposition.

Yes but 1. Knowledge of Hindi is far more than english in India 2. More comfortable in sentence structure and grammar of Hindi. 3. Hindi is indian language.

 

I have nothing against English. Globally it's number 1 regardless the number of native speakers.

Tbh I found difficulty communicating with some of my South Indian college friends they lacked understanding of even basic Hindi words.  They managed to learn some of it by the course of time... But the fact was English was common medium for us.

 

My bubble was burst as well that Hindi can be national language for us.  Hindi is extremely Urdufied, Punjabified and Pahadified in North India atm..  dialects have been completely altered.

Common kids these days don't understand unadulterated pure Hindi it's a fact now.

 

Only English is unifying Language for all Indians.

99%+ communication between different state peoples happen in Hindi.

 

English bolne walo ko fake samjha jata hai. I live in delhi, explored corporate culture in delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru etc. har jagah hindi hi bolte hain except when talking to some Tamil folks...50% of tamils do speak Hindi as well...my flatmates were tamils at different times working in Google Microsoft spoke Hindi... company ka naam isiliye bol raha hu because in company walo ki ego badi hoti hai, chhoti company Wale to aur bhi aaram se hindi bolte hain

 

English words liberally use Karo, no problem, lekin sentence structure hindi ka rakho....if you want to sound fake and lame, can continue talking in English to people who already understand/talk hindi.

I meant obviously in the northern Parts or talking with North Indians I would prefer Hindi or adulterated Hindi that's spoken these days.

I suspect the elite of gangu belt have not had any large scale contact/migration with/to the other parts of India. Hence this fixation on hindi.

 

Exception can be given to Bania boyzz.

Is it an issue only if it happens in Karnataka, Maharashtra? Delhi is above any criticism or discussion?

 

This lady is a BJP councillor, let us hope party does the right thing and reprimands her for her conduct, show that the party is not like MNS.
