vayuu1 Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 The title says it all,i consider this worse than 11-12 atleast they were oldies with good replacements ready for them, two back to back home washes now and not only that the ease with which we are being beaten consistently being outbatted and out bowled be it nz or sa on top of that no accountability, plus how will this effect players mentally who have been part of two home whitewashes, can't think of any worse phase for Indian Test Cricket,do you agree?
nevada Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 We are in a rebuilding stage but still, shouldn't be losing disastrously like this! Win or lose or draw, wickets with consistent bounce for atleast the first 4 days should be laid out. It's okay to lose while consistently doing the right thing. There's no point failing again and again trying cheap short cuts with makeshift options.
Gollum Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 (edited) We weren't this bad in Dhoni's later years. 0-8 was infuriating, and lost to England at home but that team was full of legends and country greats at the peak of their powers, while we were in transition. KP, Cook, Swann, Anderson, Broad, Prior, Trott, Bell, quite a few contenders for AT English XI. More importantly, even in those dark times we unearthed some quality future players like Kohli, Ashwin, Jadeja, Pujara, Rahane, Vijay, Umesh. This management hasn't developed any youngster, Washi is being treated so poorly, #3 one match, #8 the next. The way Dhoni's team bulldozed Aussies in 2013 BGT, this team could never, in its wildest dreams. Edited November 25, 2025 by Gollum putrevus 1
Chakdephatte Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 (edited) Back in 2019-20, when Gambhir used to bring Dhoni into every discussion, I realized he is just bitter, like some of his fellows (Sehwag, Bhajji). Earlier I used to think he is serious. Don't know how he fooled everyone including BCCI to think he is a lone warrior fighting against the system. adkrish22290 Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 (edited) Definitely this is the darkest period for Indian cricket, even the mediocre Indian team of the 90s used to dominate at home, on turners mind you. This is the first time the Indian Test team will be potentially whitewashed in consecutive home Test series, and that too to NZ and SA who have generally struggled in India. LordPrabhzy Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Call me a cynic... but i think this is a pre planned shift in approach by BCCI to ultimately pull India out of playing Test cricket citing it as loss making. They want the team to be so bad that Indian fans dont have any interest whatsoever which enables them to make this decision. Which means BCCI will have the justification of focusing only on ICC events but have a longer IPL nevada and Rondu 1 1

IPL will be lengthened, for sure.
Trichromatic Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Event 2012 England series at home, we won first test easily and then decided to go for rank turners. That team was still beating others. Here team is producing minnowesque performance which is unseen in last 35 years.

vvvslaxman Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 INdia could have transitioned much better. Gambhir has made it so bad that you have to start from the scratch brick by brick. This is like a country just getting its Test status.
