No enthusiasm at all for these ODIs

For a start, coming off the back of the dreadful tests

 

ODIs as a format - even for as a 40+ child of the 90s - is close meandering towards irrelevance 

 

But most of all, it's a terrible squad. It's always good to see exciting young players - but the same seniors hanging around. I think Rohit and Virat are still good ODI bats. But we

need to be looking forward to 2027 

 

The pick that rankles with me the most is Jadeja. Test legend but has been a poor loi player for a long time.

 

Axar meanwhile misses out- why is that ? he should be a key component of our ODI set up 

 

Even the youngster who has been picked: Tilak has been simply dreadful in list A. We hope he will adapt but he clearly needs time. Format confusion

 

Pant has proved himself not good in ODIs. I get wanting a left hander, but why not Rinku who is in form.

 

Meanwhile man of the series Vs Aus A, Parag gets overlooked. 

 

There's somethings to look forward to: I like Ruturaj in ODI and hope he comes good. Jaiswal finally gets a few chances.

It's actually an interesting format now with with 2 new balls that actually do something and a single ball after 34 overs means there's likely to be some reverse as well

It's long and boring per today's standards. Lacks the build up of test match. Lack the t20 excitement.  Like those cars which had manual gear but no clutch.

I can already see it being painful. First Rohit and Virat will hang on, upsetting the entire makeup on top of that GG will ensure remaining 9 are all-rounders.

ODIs is still fine format. T20 is bit more like few hits game whereas ODIs better team usually wins.

Did anyone watch the entire game ? Indian playing XI put me off then Jaiswal got out post which I only followed on cricbuzz.
