He would go for runs. SOmehow would take wickets. It is definitely a good sign if he develops a conventional leg spin. Right now he is like a wristy off spinner. Definitely better than pure off spin. There are already multiple openers who have done in the line, players like rutu have already started playing in mo, jaiswal is not even getting chance, then there are the t20 openers.. Opening slot is stacked at this time

Mahatre's Bat swing is ok for U19, think the issue here is he plays too many shots in the air or most of his shots are in the air.. This works in IPL/Smat due to extra pace of the bowlers it caries bit further , but in U19 pace is not that high and he does not still have the power to just hit 6s by driving it through. Think it works for him is Y-tests because the field is not so open and some of those shots in the air falls where there are no fielders. Now batters have to add something else as well may be bowl a bit or be able to play 1-5. Batter who are in system for sometime got this and playing at multiple slots.
