where is varun chakravarthy??

Injury prone, preserved for T20 WC.. why would they overload him before T20 WC in a format he has barely played

My only assumption is they don't want to over expose him in a slightly longer format.

That would make too much sense for this bunch of selectors so I'm gonna say that selectors dropped him for a different reason. I still can't understand how selection panel didn't give a chance to Vipraj Nigam (in T20), Jaiswal (in T20), Rinku (ODI) and Parag (possibly T20 and especially ODI). If you don't try these players in bilaterals when will you do it?!

With Rohit Kohli Kela Jade, there is hardly any place left

Cwc27 is treated like a picnic cricket where they are using it to thank seniors for their services

If you don't try domestic performers in bilaterals, how will you build bench strength and find replacements? Some of these players are in their prime and deserve to get a chance. If Aussies had the same mentality Steve Waugh would've played both 2003 and 2007 WC in place of Symonds and Aus probably doesn't become a juggernaut they did.

2027 is a golden opportunity for others because Aussies are a bit down down, in transition. By 2031 they will be back and very tough to beat.

Every 2nd or 3rd WC, Aussies give an opening like this, up to the rest to make full use of it, like India did in 2011 and Eng in 2019.

Since India/BCCI is fast asleep, RSA has a great shot IMO. A generational set of players, bench strength, recent string of successes, pressure/curse of winning an ICC trophy lifted, great leadership, and a home tournament after almost 2 decades.

We are going in with almost the same team in 2027 as in the previous world cup except Shami.

Rohit

Gill

Kohli
Iyer
KL
Pandya
Jadeja

Rana ( in place of Shami)
Kuldeep
Bumrah

Siraj

So, just one change in 4 year WC cycle.

If Jadeja is still in the ODI team, we don't deserve to make SF.

Ideally there shouldn't be any place for KL, Rohit and Jadeja. For me , this team can work

Jaiswal
Gill
Kohli
Iyer

Ruturaj or Tilak
Pant or Kishan
Pandya

Rana
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Siraj
