PM was posting tweets condemning the attacks on Bahrain today. There are a lot of Indians in Bahrain. Even UKPM tweeted for the safety of Britishers in UAE.

Even monetary aid was provided. That's what Shah of Iran was all about. It was current Turkiye on steroids. Khamenei basically ended all that, Zero strategic depth was provided, Balochistan became active in his period. Shia Sunni split within Pakistan expedited during his period. Relationship with India improved manifolds. Khamenei always had deep respect for Indian history and culture.

Which country in the Middle East is a natural one? Jordan Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq, UAE, Bahrain, or even Saudi Arabia? They were all created in the 20th century only, just like Israel.
Lone Wolf Posted March 2 Posted March 2 @coffee_rules Iranian government and intel helped India many times: sharing ISI plans in 1980s Afghan jihad to block Khalistan arms flow, backing us at UNSC 1993 against Pakistan on Kashmir terror, tipping LeT camps post-2001 IC814 hijack via Baloch networks, freeing 40 Indian nurses from ISIS in 2014 Mosul via Quds Force. Working with R&AW on anti-Pakistan Taliban in Afghanistan. Giving us Chabahar access for direct Afghanistan route, helped us in balancing Azerbaijan. Nikhil_cric 1

Not denying any strategic help from Iran, as it was Pakistan’s Neighbourhood and naturally india had ties with Iran. Iran started anti-US or anti-West policies after 1979, but in recent past, they had made enemies of most of the golf countries, Russia, and to an extent China too. They got isolated completely and now india cannot support Iran, stand against the west or Israel. Iran had also shared the information of our RAW agents that were outed by IK Gujral, with ISI and got them eliminated. Iran had also given up Kulbhushan to Pakistan.. India has no skin in this scheme, it should be neutral asset singhvivek141 and speedster 2

Its a mutual deal bro....Iran has also been vocal to Pakistan in Kashmir issue. Geopolitics is run by people and people by nature will swing as per their needs. There is nothing wrong in that. Each nation is at their own, India invested in Chabahar in exchange Iran also sold their oil despite sanctions. There was a rail project as well from Chabahar to Afghanistan... US, being the big dawg is an unstoppable force.

And its the right decision, fall of Iran is bad for our energy needs, but one section is saying that Russia has kissed the ring to restart its oil exports. It can very well open the Chennai Vladivostok trade route. coffee_rules 1

India anyways doesn't has a lot of stuff going on in middle East politics except keeping the expat Indians safe. It's just that a weak Iran also doesn't suits our interests. It was vital to keep Turkiye and Saudis in check. Turks would benefit the most from a weak Iran. They would dominate middle eastern politics. Israel US Turkiye axis did the same in Syria and kicked out Assad, Russians were in their mess in Ukraine. Iran was the final bastion literally Edited March 2 by Lone Wolf

Once Iran is done and dusted, Israel will move towards Turkiye. Turkiye hates Israel as much as Iran does, its just that Iran is a common enemy for US (and NATO), hence its easier to align them. Once Iran succumbs, Israel & Turkiye will be face to face. India has strong relations with Israel, and with its growing relations with Cyprus and Greece, Mediterranean is going to be next battle ground.

randomGuy Posted March 2 Posted March 2 The main thing here is that regime doesn't have support of very very large percentage of Iranis. In such a case, outsiders like China, Russia can do nothing.

Real Issue is, Sovereign nation has been violated and everyone has kept silent because that will invite American wrath. This is 21st centry colonialism and imperialism. Has any country or UN got balls to call it out? Yesterday it was Venezuela, Today its Iran, tomorrow it could be Cuba, next day Brazil or Turkey. US has gone mad Edited March 2 by mishra Lone Wolf 1

Ask velu and see reports, polls, majority Iranis want freedom from regime. If regime was liberal towards its citizens and not supported hamas, it would have support of many countries and most importantly, support of its own people.

Agree, run was our strategic partner for many decades, even during the mulla regime. It was not Iranian president or head of state that was killed, it was a religious leader who had no ties with GOI. He keeping quiet is the best policy regarding his death.
