MK55 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Is the Iranian militia n their parliament retarded or what? I expected this but they seem to have completely missed the point and r obsessing over who called who. They are deluded as if they r winning this thing or in some position of strength. The fact of the matter is that people (world) are wanting an off ramp. Theres a clear initiative towards that (via intermediaries off course). If they don’t negotiate in good faith, VERY quickly the entire region (already happening) and the world is gonna turn against their tactics. And this time it will be via actions. The strait simply cannot be closed for that long by taking the entire world hostage for their inability to defend themselves directly. We have some Iranian spokesmen even confirming now that they have indeed received some points / conditions of the “deal”. If these bozos had any sense, they would focus on getting some of their sanctions reduced. Thats the one thing they can actually do something about via this “deal”. That will be their “reparations”. Now does that mean that they can trust recent events 100 percent? Of course not but that’s still their best bet given the circumstances. Edited March 24 by MK55
MK55 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 And who are they expecting to contact anyways? Their top 2-3 levels r taken out with their makeshift “ayatollah” in hiding.

They are just trying to get out of that defence pact where they'll be forced to take the side of Saudia and USA against the Iranians if this war prolongs. India have everything to lose if we meddle in Middle Eastern affairs. We have already got the best out of this situation and even today 2 LPG tankers - JAG Vasant and PINE Gas have passed through Hormuz and this diplomacy W is the only W we need out of this. The only focus for all Indians should be our impending severe water scarcity by 2030. Literally nothing else should be given as much importance Perfect summary express bowling and mishra 2

The real ppl in power in Iran don’t need to face the ppl in elections. they are ideologically inclined to see Israel & US suffer, they also know they will lose conventional fight with them. They have learnt from Iraq, & Afg wars that best way to actually “win” over US is to make US engage in a protracted fight stretching out for years. The only way to defeat US is politically, they are willing to pay the price in blood because they are ideologically motivated to. G_B_, singhvivek141 and mishra 1 2

They would need to make certain trade offs w.r.t uranium enrichment etc for that to proceed. Those guys aren't dumb. They have the best army in the middle East and are well entrenched in their geographical area to ride out whatever Israel/usa throw at them. At this point , getting boots on the ground for US/Israel will be counter productive because Iran's geography makes it very difficult for an invading force to attack them. I do agree that they should not risk the goodwill of the rest of the world and risk becoming even further isolated. That is the tradeoff they need to consider. The more isolated they become , the easier it becomes for US/Israel to get more countries to commit to putting boots on ground.
bsriharsha Posted March 24 Posted March 24 And as far as India is concerned, we are playing this correct so far. Maintain enough conversations without going down the Turkiye route. None of the sides in this conflict can really be trusted. In that case , do what's best for India. What's best for India is quite often what's best for the global south. Let both the sides take the losses and emerge weaker fon this conflict. mishra 1

Yes correct. Not sure about the trade deal, but what is certain is that US is fast tracking its own decline. mishra 1

mishra Posted March 24 Posted March 24 BTW , Credibility of existence of multipolarity lies in public display of US unable to win a war against a middle power in a region not in Western hemisphere (aka Iran).

I get those arguments and that’s what’s expected from a barbaric regime ruled by militants. BUT 1: They are not in an isolated fight with the US n Israel. If the strait is involved for any protracted amount of time do you think the world is going to just allow that silently? It’s basically guaranteed to destroy economies - starting with Europe first. This is their last option to escape. There is direct pressure from UK, EU now. Gulf is already against them. 2: This isn’t some war with a no name country. If this continues, there will be massive structural ASYMMETRIC losses on their side. And for what? For ego? 3: They will be public (global) enemy number one if they don’t negotiate in good faith especially when US is inclined to resolve this diplomatically. I can guarantee you if they don’t make diplomatic progress this week, this is going to happen fast. So it’s either all of this and they delay the inevitable Vs they get to keep most of energy infrastructure, continue their business (whatever that is) plus the option of getting some sanctions reduced. The more isolated they become , the easier it becomes for US/Israel to get more countries to commit to putting boots on ground. Aren’t they already ready to make enrichment sacrifices? That was the first thing that puppet foreign minister who keeps making rounds on CBS kept dishing out after the war. He had specifically said no weapons plus diluting the enrichment as per US requirements - both. They may be largest army but they severely lack anything else - Air Force, Navy, Defence etc. They may avoid a boots on the ground scenario but they can VERY easily get all their strategic points of interest wiped out permanently. If they get to a scenario where all restraints are off, it’s gonna end up very bad for them and u don’t need boots on the ground for that (except some isolated pockets). Now look at the alternative: They get to sacrifice the nuclear stuff (most of which they already were willing), get to continue their shop and bonus get some sanctions removed. They can even keep their charade / narrative going that they held up their own in the war. They can refuse the ballistic missile points (and I’m sure US won’t have a huge problem with that besides some range limits if any) These idiots need to get their ego in place.
