His father left Pakistan to Zimbabwe, Raza tried to be an Air force pilot but failed the eye test , his father then sent him to Scotland for 4 years engineering diploma , I think he had played a bit of cricket pre University but then the story of his cricket in Scotland . After graduating he went bak to Zimbabwe and asked his father for one year to be a cricketer and like I said the rest is history .

Aus couldn't chase 170 here, in fact were never in the chase, against Zimbabwe. Even in D/N, there has been no dew thus far in this tournament. Andaza laga lo.

Tbh I like the no dew. Keeps it fair.

If we lose, we lose. We were not good enough.

21 T20WC was a sham.

@Gollum, changing the topic here... what's going on with Indian Hockey???? They were beaten by Belgium in the first game of FIH Pro League and were thrashed by Argentina 8-0 in the 2nd game. India is currently second from the last with only Pakistan below them.

I thought we had gotten better and were one of the top 4or 5 teams in the world and here we're getting hammered by Argentina like minnows. Very disappointing

Bhai yaad mat dila. I am trying to forget the Arg game, galti se ek quarter dekh liya maine kal, still trying to get it out of my system.

One of the biggest humiliations for me, last I remember Aussies beating us 8-0 in CWG 2010 final, in Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. Charlesworth was their coach and pre-game had proclaimed that his side would beat India 10-0 in the final.

Everyone is taking Pro League lightly this year (happens in WC and Olympic years) but the manner of defeat was too humiliating.

Man nobody is posting anything in the BigFooty  Aus cricket forum - I was hoping for a lot of crying there.... but mostly Aussies just going Smith this and Smith that. Get over Smith..... and Hazelwho too. Sick of that Starc, Cummins, Hazelwho - all overrated.

This is the attitude we should have vs Pak.

Smith, Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood are good though - got 4 ICC trophies including 2 CWCs w/o being as good as the 00s Aus team.

For some reason when I see/hear the word Zimbabwe, I think only 2 things - Heath Streak and Andy Flower.....Don't know why.

They put that team on the map. They were the face of it

NED have been playing cricket for so long. When will we see some significant progress from these guys

Good point.   Same with Ireland.  Current Irish players are mostly 30+ yr old & hv been playing intl cricket for almost a decade, with zero improvement.

Argentina match was a shocker. It was over in the2nd quarter itself. It was as if we were playing a peak Aus team.

Defensive lapses reminded me of the Brazil-Germany SF in 2014 FIFA WC. Only that this one came in a less prestigious event, and not a KO game.

That was a delicious match! That match brought the arrogant Brasilians back down and hopefully taught them good manners - besides crying.....

I had a Brasilian colleague/friend in 90's and I mentioned to him that although limited in athleticism and skill, I liked the Mexican team for their commitment. He said with disgust - "They have a sh!t team."  After the 7-1 in Belo, I wanted to ask him politely if the "sh!t team" would have conceded 4 in 6 minutes AND would the whole country have cried as much. The crying was more disgusting than even the result or play. Unfortunately I had lost contact with him.

Brasil were as obnoxious about soccer before 7-1 as the West Indians were before say 2005. Both have learnt a lesson.
