Army guy allegedly fight with locals over road rage and is assaulted, blames that locals forced him to speak in Kannada. His version is not plausible

Another angle :hmmm:

Where there's a problem with maharashtra in Belagavi (Karnataka), kannada folks readily talk in hindi with the Marathis. Demographics there are like 30-35% kannada and marathi each, the rest muslims and others.

Seems like a case of language hatred imo.

There is more to it than jumping into this language angle. He also said call the police in English. That lady made it a language issue out of nowhere. From eye witness accounts, it started with a minor fender bender and guy came out and hit the Swiggy guy first. There is a full video here:

in such cases, restrain should be shown by educated and stronger people.

Highly politicized issue in Belagavi from both sides. There have been riots induced by politicians on both sides. Sharad Pawar was one of them who got political mileage by showing up muscles and rose up in ranks in the 80s. People live peacefully, politicians won’t let sleeping dogs lie. Wherever there’s a bit of division, they come in and multiply problems to their political benefits. Caste, sub-caste, religion, language, state borders, racial identities .. so many divisions in India. Hopefully the next generation sees less of this

People are changing views on the Air Force officer incident. There is a language problem in Karnataka, but not in this case. @randomGuy

we may never find out. But would take b'lore polices' 'attempt to murder' charge with a pinch of salt for now.  Dash cam vid bhi aaye to clarity ho...who attacked first, how army guy went mad, n how he got bloodied face.

True words. Recent example being MNS workers' attack on non-marathis. Abhi uddhav, raj ek sath aenge. Let's see how much marathi public supports such acts.

I am not saying it because of the FIR. What dash cam, do cars have dash cam in India? One of the videos (full video) shows some verbal altercation before the incident. The army guy steps out and hits him and pushes the biker down. And then the key was used to hurt the officer. Later videos show the officer bleeding was beating biker and people trying to pacify him. There is no Kannada angle here. His version of using the language issue here is wrong.

There are subtitles here, the biker is saying that he asked what the lady said in Kannada and the muscles comes out using his army training on the biker. I have been in such cases in India. If you touch the biker, they first come out abusing cuss words. Educated people should not get into physical fights for such reasons. There is no winner. If the biker had a gun, there would been lives lust over nothing. It happens a lot in road rage.
