Imagine yourself in a time when your team is stronger and better than India. And have better head to head record. But when it comes to important matches, world cups, Asia cups, etc your team keeps losing to india. And one player from India is considered the best of the best by all other countries Obviously you will feel jealous and will want to pull him down Which is why the Sachin hate started in Pakistan from players to media to fams Imagine today when india is clearly stronger we lose every world cup match to them. And one of their players is called the best in the world. We would react the same way and hate that player. And these fans grew up with that hate. By the time Kohli came, india was clearly a better team so Pakistanis had no problem accepting Kohli is a great player. They will never accept Sachin is a better player in any comparison, even with Jayasuriya or de Silva or mark waugh Edited April 7 by New guy KV244 1

Adamant Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Simple. India only plays limited over games against Pakistan and Kohli is a level ahead of Sachin in odi and t20is. Better world cup performance against non minnows, better knocks in KO stages, finishing prowess etc etc. That combined with the fact he is the greatest t20i player of all time without a feckin doubt. Adamant Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Also Pakistanis like strong personalities and aura. In a room full of the likes of Imran, Wasim, Kohli, Akhtar, Miandad, Ganguly etc Sachin would be like a lizard on the wall. GoldenSun 1

bsriharsha Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Kohli's roots are from Peshawar I think. Probably the reason why most Pakistanis like him. Not that Kohli necessarily feels the same.

Lillee used to kick him around like a football, guy was a joker. Akhtar another drama queen, carried himself like a simpleton. Sachin had aura/presence, just like a Messi now. Messi may not have the physicality or swagger of a Ronaldo but camera and fans sure can't get enough of him, same with Sachin in his prime. Norman, Sean Bradley and New guy 3
Gollum Posted April 11 Posted April 11 (edited) Pak fans were abusing Kohli for last 2 days since he put up that Dhurandhar appreciation post. His SM followers count also dipped. So long, they thought Kohli was their guy because of his friendly attitude towards their players. The minute Kohli stops giving them bhaav, they will turn against him. Also, ever since Kohli became more spiritual and made temple visits (think he also follows some baba now), he has been targeted for that by usual suspects on X. Sachin never gave them any extra bhaav, treated them like he would any other opponent. Pooks hate such Indians. Edited April 11 by Gollum KV244, New guy and bsriharsha 2 1

It's the old school desi thought of - being a loud boorish, attention seeker, means you have a strong personality. Out of all those names I would say only imran and ganguly have clear strong personalities. Wasim is actually pretty soft spoken and often a yes man. Sachin was not a yes man despite his softer demeanor which is why he and BCCI never got along during his younger age Edited April 11 by New guy Lord and Gollum 2

Sachin is someone they can not claim in anyway. They can claim kohli is Punjabi munda etc. And he responded to them with overblown pr gestures after dominating performances on the field. While Sachin focused on the game alone. crictime and KV244 2

Have not seen that with any other player. And mind you, this was when we also had other good bats like Dada, Dravid, Sidhu, Azhar, Jadeja. People would lose hope after one man's exit. To claim that he had no aura is nonsensical.....people wouldn't be so attached to one player if he didn't have something extra in him. Edited April 12 by Gollum Vilander and New guy 2

New guy Posted April 12 Posted April 12 1 hour ago, Vilander said: Sachin was pretty much definition of Aura. Yep, and if what that pakistani @Adamant claimed was true, Pakistanis would at best be indifferent to him. But hate is a very strong emotion and Pakistanis hate Sachin passionately, they will do anything to pull him down and demean him and always put others before him in comparisons That doesn't happen to someone who is boring and if you are indifferent to them. That happens when you hate someone in your opposition to the core because he has left lots of scars on you and you are jealous that your opposition has him
Lord Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Kohli showed extra love to their players with pappi jhappi etc. Also Kohli success against them can be excused by Pak bowlers being poor. Sachin often owned their greatest attack KV244, Vilander and Sean Bradley 3

Sachin often owned their greatest attack Not entirely true. peak wasim vs peak sachin was an even battle at best . 2003 ODI world cup centurion knock was against great pak bowling but wasim/waqar were playing their last world cup. India lost multuple sharjah toureny finals against PAK with wasim equall being good against sachin. Kohli success against them can be excused by Pak bowlers being poor. Nope. They did 152/0 with shaheen claiming KL/Rohit with peach of deliveries in 2021 and PAK was cruising along in 2022 MCG match ( PAK was finalist in the 2022 t20 world cup). I agree the other ODI apperances in 2023 Asia cup/2023 ODI world cup, their bowling is subpar. 2017 mohanmed amir was great too in champions trophy.

So true. I have watched peak sachin and peak virat. Sachin sure played great knocks like 1998 sharjah desert storm and 2003 ODI centurion against PAK. I do not remeber other knock out innings he has played unlike virat who is temperamentally better in KO. Sachin reminds me of roger federer where as kohli reminds me djokovic. The former is all grace and elegance, the later is all mental toughness and tenacity. Adamant 1
