gakgupta Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Who the heck is this guy — Mukul Choudhary — and where has this kind of raw power been hiding? This is exactly the kind of talent that makes me watch the Indian Premier League. Moments like this are why neutral fans tune in — not just to watch the same familiar names year after year. No disrespect to experienced players like Jaydev Unadkat or Ayush Badoni (Badoni did well in this match), but the league needs more fearless, exciting new talent that makes you sit up and say, “Wow.” I genuinely think IPL owners and team management need to understand the audience pulse better. The idea isn't just to win matches — it's also to entertain. For neutral fans especially, entertainment comes from discovering new stars, explosive hitters, and players who bring unpredictability and excitement. Also, right now there are 10 teams. Even if this increases to 12 teams, people will still watch — as long as there is exciting talent on display. In fact, if teams consistently bring in players who excite fans, even international audiences will tune in. Talent that entertains travels beyond borders. Franchises have huge financial power. Instead of relying only on the existing domestic pipeline, they should invest more seriously in nurturing their own talent. Look at how many football clubs operate — they run structured development systems with U15, U19, and U21 teams, constantly building their own future stars. I am sure there are hundreds of Mukul Choudharys in India just waiting to be found and given the right platform. Imagine if every IPL franchise had a strong long-term academy system feeding talent into the main squad. We'd see more players like Mukul Choudhary coming through — and the league would become even more exciting to watch. Just my thoughts — but performances like this are exactly what keep fans hooked. deepdynamo Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Aman Rao, opener, is another one who set SMAT on fire. But he is in RR who already have Jaiswal and Suryavanshi. Massive bad luck for him- he won't get a single game. In that repect, Priyansh Arya got a perfect team and see where he is now. Sometime, its also about the right team as well. Quote Key Highlights of Aman Rao x BCCI (2025-26 Season): Historic Double Century: On January 6, 2026, Aman Rao became the first Hyderabad batter to score a List A double-century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring an unbeaten 200 off 154 balls against Bengal, which included 12 fours and 13 sixes. Aggressive Batter: Known as a right-handed opener, he has shown a high strike rate (over 160) in the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). Performance Against Top Bowlers: During his double-century knock, he scored runs against experienced international bowlers, including Mohammed Shami, Mukesh Kumar, and Akash Deep. Manucrick 1

tapandrun Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Impact-sub has unlocked the chances for Ind domestic player to get into playing 11+1 of the 1st season of IPL. Earlier such players would have to wait for couple of seasons may get an opportunity here or there and some time may be dropped frm ipl to be not picked by any team. With Impact-sub rule teams have been bit adventurous with some domestic players and that is being fruitful, getting proper t20 players not the fake allrounders -- lalit, gautam,shankar..etc...or play it safe kind of batters. As for mukul-- let him play more games lets see if he can do it repeadtly and vs diff. opp. He has the ingredients can he develop. Once mukul finds some success other IPL teams will be on look-out fr their version of mukul as was the case with Abhishek as soon as he found some success other teams were on look-out fr their version of him and finding Arya and Vaibhav and they have elevated their teams, rr and pk were mid tier teams with such players other teams looks dated. singhvivek141 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 We need more express bowlers and pace bowling allrounders. Raj Bawa is getting wasted in MI. Nitish Reddy just dont have any legs in his bowling. Ramakrishna Ghosh isnt getting any games as well. Bowling wise...Ashok has mostly done well, Tyagi too has shown his skills, Umran & Mayank are yet to get a game....but only 4 express pacers is too low (and we dont know if Umran has that same pace or he has become another 135-140k pacer).

prudent_kreeda Posted April 14 Posted April 14 was not happy with his batting against high pace vs GT . Was hit badlty by on head by Ashok with 151 bouncer. Struggled to hit any big shots against pacers in that innings vs pacers and ultimately holed out to pacy rising ball with nothing shot . So against real pace need to see how well he playes esp. risingback of length and bouncers. Good agaist full pitched balls and spinners
