Mohammad Nawaz under PCB investigation after positive test for recreational drug use

Mohammad Nawaz is facing a PCB investigation after testing positive for recreational drug use during the T20 World Cup earlier this year. The development has already impacted his career plans, with his proposed move to Surrey for the T20 Blast falling through despite having been granted an NOC by the PCB.

Nawaz, 32, played all seven of Pakistan’s matches in Sri Lanka, scoring 15 runs and taking seven wickets, but the ICC informed the PCB of the positive test and the board has begun its due process. Surrey, who had been set to announce his signing, have withdrawn, while Nawaz continues to feature for Multan Sultans in the ongoing PSL, where he bowled three wicketless overs in their recent win over Rawalpindi.

Tbh, many types of recreational drugs are unfairly demonized by hypocrites who somehow don't make similar hue and cry about consumption of alcohol.

This is bad news for us. I want Mohammad Nawaz, Harris Rauf, Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Shadab Khan etc. to play on forever 

 

It's not as if they've match-winners outside of the squad either but it's fun to kick this highly touted lot's ass 

 

Still remember the days of "they can't play him", "we've the best pace attack in the world", "we're going to win the WC in India"

This is an invalid argument that xyz thing is ban why not abc..

 

If anything that is ban should have been avoided, if apples were banned do not take apple , take oranges its simple.

And how and from where the players are getting such thing on an away tour in middle of the wc, think the team manager should be questioned here as well.

That "holier than thou" attitude from those wannabe maulvis like Rizwan, Saqlain, Mushtaq, Sohail Tanvir etc. is what gets to me. At least when our obnoxious types like Harbhajan, Sehwag etc. make cringe statements, they don't bring religion into it.
