But I can see why people supported them. The protests were largely peaceful for over a month and govt showed its arrogance by not even acknowledging it alongwith mainstream media blackout. A tweet from PM alone could have gone a long way.Eventually people need atleast an illusion of power that they can be heard if they try. Here even hunger strikes did not work. The message was we do not care as protests are peaceful. That becomes a fertile ground for nefarious elements to hijack and thats what we are seeing now.
