tweaker Posted May 21 Posted May 21 The Punjab pacer has been part of the Gujarat Titans setup since IPL 2025. Although he hasn’t made his debut for the franchise, being in the camp with his statemate Shubman Gill has been a massive learning curve for Brar. The camaraderie between Gill and Brar dates back to their Under-19 days with Punjab. It was Gill who helped Brar make further progress in his career. In 2021, Brar broke into List A cricket, and a year later, he made his Ranji Trophy debut. Brar had become a regular face in the Punjab setup by then. He featured in five Ranji matches during the 2022-23 season. The 2024-25 season marked his stirring comeback. While Punjab faltered as a unit, the young pacer delivered a standout campaign with 26 wickets in just seven matches, including a five-wicket haul. The same year, he was picked by Gujarat Titans in the mega-auction. Brar has been in an environment that further accelerated his growth. Sharing the dressing room with seasoned international bowlers gave him invaluable exposure, helping him better understand the demands, discipline, and mindset required to succeed at the highest level. https://www.news18.com/amp/cricket/learning-from-shubman-gill-growing-with-gt-gurnoor-brar-brimming-with-excitement-after-maiden-india-call-up-ws-l-10103029.html BacktoCricaddict 1

A guy GIll may use in 2 formats in national colors didn't get opportunity . Why didn't he play. Is he worse than Arshad khan and Ashok sharma?
tapandrun Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Those who are trying to make sense of how gt is selecting their 11+1 , seems like they are not seeing the entire GT squad. Gt is not a conventional ipl/t20 side, there is just 1 proper t20 batter who is also fading. And even in batsmanship they just have 3 batters. they have no batter in the entire squad. So to win they need v.high performing bowling line-up and they also need some batting too from those bowlers <-- hence bowler like Arshad are getting in over Ashok, and arshad is quick as well 138-144 kmph and he can hit 4/6 down the order. The idea is that openers play 10 overs, top3 plays 15 overs and then from there may be try accelerate and they need some1 from rest 5/6 batters is to play a quick 30 runs innings. express bowling 1
Sooda Posted May 21 Posted May 21 He's been on selectors radar for a while as we know because of his attributes as a tall quick who gets bounce. Nothing to do with Gill. On flat pitches Vs Aus A he generated good bounce and bowled with heart and spirit. Hope he has a long successful career for India Sandz, tapandrun, BacktoCricaddict and 1 other 1 3

express bowling Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) Gurnoor is 25 already and hopefully the TM gives him test debut against Afghanistan. Pacers need atleast a couple of years to mature and should ideally debut by age 22 / 23. If his debut gets delayed by a couple of years, he maybe lost forever like Kuldeep Sen. We don't have any other 6'5" bounce bowler who has the stamina to bowl accurately at 140 k+ in red ball cricket. Gurnoor is the only one. He can extract life out of dead pitches. Gurnoor needs to be backed in his teething phase because success has not come immediately for many good players. Edited May 24 by express bowling Sandz, bouncers, Lone Wolf and 4 others 7

Ultimate_Game Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Best of luck to Gurnoor and hope he succeeds and has a lengthy, successful career in Indian colors. Wish we had selected Aquib Nabi as well as the guy has done everything humanely possible to get selected, and has been in stellar form in Ranji over the last 2 years. Nabi performed in 2025-26. So he will be picked in 2028. .... on a paTTa wicket where the other team will score 517/5 decl, where everyone will return figures of 1/100, but only the debutant will be called shyte and forgotten forever. Looks like you need to be part of the "right group" to be backed. Likes of Sarfaraz, Aquib etc. don't just like Jaiswal and Iyer struggle to get in while folks like SKY and Gill have everything handed to them on a platter. tweaker 1
