T20 captaincy should not be for long term as it is a form based format. 
 

Even having a rotating captaincy(series based) or someone picked by the coach on the day can work as well.

Think time has come when intnl t20i sides be run by backroom and coaches. If being the captain adds lot more pressure in a format risk taking is essential part of the game then it makes more sense for coaches to run teams.

 

Couple of bad games for a player naturally makes them go back in to the shell which is detrimental to the side so better players are given a specific role and responsibility but not the captaincy, they can be leaders.

 

This wont work in leagues(of ipl level ) because there are multiple domestic players/new players who look-up to these stars and there are multiple stars from other cntry too so they nedd a proper captain and a leadership group

even though i refuse to buy into the iyer hype i really hope his entry does not disrupt the flawless run of our t20 side as an indian supporter i want a smooth transition and absolutely do not want a chaotic mumbai indians captaincy mess repeated on the international stage

Iyer himself is a very poor T20 player

Him getting parachuted as captain will have atleast 2 bad effects

1)many current members will be pisswd off

2)it will destroy the already good team combination,means they will drop or chop and change between Abhishek,Samson and Kishan

Abhishek is crucial as he can bowl and may suit India's plans to have him in the odi xi /squad for the Jadeja role ,infact an upgrade over him in lois

Kishan will always be on the edge same with Samson

100% agree. This is going to destroy both team balance and unity. Should have made someone from within captain

While I like Shreyas, making him the captain straight away when he wasn't even part of the squad previously doesn't gel well with me. 

Also, with Vaibhav and Kishan in the fray now, the top 5 look set and Shreyas' inclusion looks as forced as Gill's inclusion previously.

Had it been some regular text book stat padding individual he would have surely dropped him and we would have seen a routine bowing out of KOs which we had become used to in recent past by playing safe guys
