Rathi's case is different he was always a defensive option.  In a T20 emerging type tournament he might be decent

ODI demands attacking skill set more.

He would still bowl better than Vipraj coz  eod he is a frontline bowler.

I get why they have structured the squad to maximise depth given the intent of the top three: Arshad, Vipraj can bat even Kamboj at 11 is decent, but it comes at the cost of bowling bite

 

If we're going to factor in batting skills when picking bowlers, then we need the middle order to show a lot more intent as they have the comfort of batting depth until no 10 and 11 . 

 

If there's quick top order wickets and Gaekwad and Tilak are going to "anchor" then we need to drop one of the "bowling all rounders" and replace him with an out and out bowler. Yudhvir can bat too and is quicker than Kamboj will get more purchase

If there is anything like Zero X-factor this guy fits the bill. Finding a single weapon in his armory is l ike searching for needle in a haystack. Atleast Deepak Chahar could swing with new ball.

Main Indian team's odi or test bowling is not much better. Batting wise we should be fine in 2027, it is bowling which doomed in 2023 and many other world cups before.

 

Even in bowler friendly conditions fast bowlers cannot take wickets in odis.One guy who was taking and can take wickets in Shami is sidelined.

 

Our genius bowlers can make 400 look like 200 also.

Even if you go for CSK quota Gurjapneet had better returns in VH. He had more wickets. ONly bowler to go under 5 runs per over among the top wicket takers.

We can discount it based on early impressions based on emerging Asia Cup where he flopped and was not bowling at pace either.

How come Ashok and Mayank didn't make it? When they were playing for India A in T20 WC warm ups?

I won't say that until we exhaust all our options. Right now if we go with this line up you coul say it is worse than Holland bowling. ARyan dutt > better than any of the spiner we played.

Yes Pakistan has better spinners than us atm...

We have better upcoming Pacers and they have better spinners.

 

Idk how but we only select mediocre finger spinners/darters in U19 set up.. mostly left arm spinners 

 

Bishnoi was last wrist spinner that came from U19 set up in 2020

Ideally we shouldn'tbe losing our mind over an A tour. But it is frustrating to watch selectors assembling a squad like this when they could have done far better.  From captaincy to squad selection everything looks pathetic. This Tukkuraj being a vastly experienced List A players decided to focus on his stats rather than team cause. These kind of players should not play for India.

Think Arshad and Vipraj are good picks nothing wrong with them, Ind does not have many LA and wrist-spinning options. They have to try all who are there.

 

Both can bat are good or decent fielders ,vipraj took 15 wkts in Vht and 13 in smat, think in smat he was the top wkt taker when it comes to wrist-spinners rest were all las.

Ansari is good option too he should be developed as well , the thing is both vipraj and ansari are not big turner of the ball. 

 

Wrist spinner options ::

• Vipraj
• Ansari
• Punja
• Shivang
• Fuletra
• MI player ---name ???

LA pacer options :

• Arshad
• Mohsin
• Mishra
• Naman Tiwari

 

These are only options in-terms of Wrist-spinner and LA pacers have to develop couple of them from this group only, may be there are 1-2 more , but who else.

This has been age old problem with us,A side games are meant for newbies or someone who is a genuine potential,but we have been giving A games to likes of Rutu who is been around for 10 years,Avesh,Shardul who are there since eternity 

After wasting places on many of them we are again dealing with likes of Bharibojh,Yudhvir(he too has been part of many games and I don't think he's good enough)

Now is the time to play Ashok,Tyagi get them these games ,they will bear more fruits if given those opportunities which like of Bharibojh and Avesh get,you have Mayank as well

They have even replaced Siraj with Prasidh,no vision whatsoever,rise of pace stocks in BD has clearly exposed Indian think tank 

They alswaysgo with meek weak pacers to show the world we lack pace as always
