Duckett is as much hit and miss as any Indian t20 batsman This is the same putrid England team which failed in last world cup and CT. Indian top five are just fine including Iyer.Gill is better organized captain than Iyer and you will see the difference.

putrevus Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Why is Kuldeep not part of the odi squad. I know he stinks under pressure but he is better spinner than Axar and Sundar.

Oh I did not see Kuldeep's name then bowling wise we should be okay with Kuldeep and Bumrah.Brar , Prasidh with Axar/Sundar is very good bowling attack. singhvivek141 1

MK55 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 This has been a massive egg on the face. Gunroor needs to go out there and cause some damage to these English hacks and shut their mouths. express bowling 1

Lord's these days is low scoring across formats. Cardiff yes a D/N game so will have to see. The side boundary is big while straight one is smaller. You gotta adjust with it well enough. The real belter venues for ODI cricket in England historically have been The Oval, Southampton and Trent Bridge, where you can sometimes have huge successful chases, even 350+. https://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;filter=advanced;host=1;innings_number=2;orderby=team_score;template=results;type=team;view=innings Those 2nd innings high scores are consistently seen at those 3 venues most. Lords last year had SA vs England which was a 330 vs 325 pitch which was on the higher side and similar to our 326 chase - rare for Lords , I must say. Birmingham has only seen 2 2nd innings scores above 300, even. Yeah it depends on the individual pitches we get. But , it will be historically, the flattest wicket in Edgbaston if we get a 350 vs 350 wicket there.
bowl_out Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Somehow get the feeling Jadeja will sneak back into the ODI side for the WC seeing Axar's recently lack of form.

My idea is due to heat wave the pitches are much harder this time than usually the softer ones we get in England... Morgan suggested the same. They might still be good for batting but there will be sometime extra for Pacers who bend their backs and hit the deck hard Nikhil_cric 1
Bigg Brother Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Hope Kohli doesnt fail and score hundred in dead ruber 3rd ODI. Should carry on the IPL form.

zen Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) The all rounders appear to be the weak link unless they pick up their game. Looking at the squad. I would try to play as many specialists as possible without worrying about having too many (potentially bad) options on field and batting depth till 8-9 on paper. Now watch these third rate bowlers pick up wickets from all the pressure built by boom and they will thump their chests as if they won india the game I will be keenly watching how Gurnoor bowls here.. he should get good guidance from Boom too.. He has got pace, movement and bounce.. English batters will attack him..so how he responds to tgat agression will let us know his future prospects.. Chaos 1

Nikhil_cric Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Edgbaston offers something upfront for the seamers. Still , I want India to bat first, tough it out and score 300+ . That will be a win of sorts.
