Among the female singers in the last decade or so, she is one of my favorite singer. This song was beaten to death on radio when it was new.. Got hooked on again after listening to it on VOICE. [ame=

Q2J3qH9aAX0 Everything looks pretty with hindsight, but still hearing this song remains one of the upbeat lifting songs. Considering this movie came out in 1984 it is hard not to see Yash Chopra's attempt at capturing the shutting down of Bombay Mills, thus leading to mass joblessness of the youth. This obviously fuelled the gangsterism of Bombay that was seen in the next few decades. There is also bit of homage (in form of Dilip Kumar) to the journalists of Bombay who were silenced by mafia. Hridyanath Mangeshkar never got his due in Hindi music world. The song was sung by Suresh Wadekar, Shailendra Singh, Hariharan & Anup Jalota! That has to be a pretty decent set of crooners. :agree:

suYhJA9lcm0 1) One of the rare movies based on Parsis. 2) The combo of Rajesh Roshan & Gulzar should also be pretty rare. RR created some lovely melody but somehow never made to the A-list. 3) Interesting to see the diffence of accent between Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. Lataji says khaa-ish while KK saab says khwaa-ish. 4) Hum un dino ameer the jab tum kareeb the :hatsoff: 5) Cant remember any movies of Bindiya Goswani for her performance but she had some great songs picturized on her (Aane waala pal jaanewaala hai for example).
