An ordinary story and a very bad screenplay has killed it. The performances are very average. The director 's has got even a seasoned actor like Dilip Tahil to act bad. There are a few jokes here and there that are funny, but that's it.

Argo was a political thriller. Now how many better Political thrillers have come better than Argo in the last 5 years,The last one I recollect is Last King of scotland may be......Now for that specific genre Argo was a very good movie. From a filmmaking experience it was real good for the reasons mentioned above,so why is it overrated?
Detonator Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Don't know what you guys expect in a movie seriously. 1)The movie had very good performances 2) The detail and research put into recreating the era. 3)Yes they did twist some events to add to the drama acknowledge of doing that. 4)The soundtrack was brilliant. 5)The movie kept everyone on the edge of the seat as any good thriller is supposed to So what part of the movie was overrated?Not everymovie has to be an arthouse classic or neither mindless entertainment,this was a very well made film on accounts. The phrase a movie is overrated is usually very overrated. You guys have some humongous expectations from movies Agree for the most of it. But Argo is a classical oscar bait, with political propanganda and has some serious goofy flaws. It doesn't deserve a "Best Picture" award, which the movie isn't. Beasts of the Southern Wild , Django unchained are much better movies and has much better film making.
