maniac Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Ok came back from watching Drushyam(Telugu version) here is my review Experience of watching a Telugu movie in a theater in California The theater, one of the bigger name theater franchises-was playing 2 shows within 10 minutes of each other and both shows were jam packed and houseful....That is right folks Telugu people are are officially talking over :isalute: Initial trailers There was Telugu influence even in the trailers shown-Pizza remake of Tamil film is directed by one of the heirs of the famous Akkineni family,Kick is a remake of a telugu movie( :giggle:All the best if you decide to watch it) As I said we are taking over .....and then a couple of miscellaneous trailers o f movies that were an embarrassing stereotype of a typical NRI desi First 15-20 minutes and rest of the movie The first 15-20 minutes of the movie was like :WTF: .....I was thinking maybe mallu sensibilities of film making are totally different from rest of India but then as the movie unfolded it was very gripping and engrossing...Good job Slickr :nice: Acting Venkatesh thought he did a Christian Bale style of Method acting here.....Packed a few pounds to get into the character after watching Mohan Lal in the original, but poor guy didn't realize that it was Mohan Lal's natural size and had nothing to do with the character portrayed.Now at age 50+ good luck losing all the flab,No more romancing teens old enough to be your grand daughter,Enjoy uncle roles for the rest of your film career :two_thumbs_up:.The rest of the cast was decent and the actor who played the bad guy Ravi Kale I think his name was-good job,need to see more of him. Filmmaking This movie was a nice change of pace and a different attempt from all the Magnum Opuses telugu film industry is renowned for worldwide.Very simple and well done.I think we ought to copy more Mallu movies going forward :hmmm:. Taking about copy just when I thought Indian cinema had some good tailunt when it came to originality,I read this was a copy of a Japanese movie :banghead: but having said that it was adapted well to suit the native audience :nice: Countdown to this catching the wrong eyes in Bollywood and getting ruined. Anyways a good thriller and a very fast moving script-3.5/5 Watch this space as I am on a movie watching spree and I will check out the new Planet of the Apes movie and review it for you guys :bow:

It was good ...just came back after wp watching it ..first one was much lighter so do not expect anything like that this is different ..also do not go just for action ...I love this kind of movie but don't know about others :giggle:

Detonator Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Justice League : War - 9/10 It's an experimental movie, they tried a various origin stories for JL members. Made an awesoem job on it. Got rid of the lame Maritian Manhunter, and impossible to show on live action Aquaman. Instead they got the awesome Captain Marvel. Recent news on the live action Shazam movie, the JL movie gonna be awesome.

Most saw that coming just by the trailers :giggle: Every freaking movie suffers from sequelitis. Only a handful of sequels like Aliens, Toy Story 2, Dark Knight, Terminator 2 , Dollars triology etc., surpassed the originals.
